Yea. 4R got sold about a month ago and I picked up a 2011 dcsb on 35’s as a trail rig. I’ve got two different guys who want the trailer so I’m just waiting to see who shows up with cash first.

Wheeling out here is much more of a “trailer it to the park and unload it, wheel and break it, trailer it home” whereas in Utah it made more sense to have an “overland” style rig. So now I have the taco and will soon have a cushy daily to trailer it with.

If you get out of the valley like up by Park City it's gorgeous right now.

Confirmed. Took the kids up to Midway / Soldier Hollow for the ice castles tonight. Super clear sky, loads of stars, spotlight moon, and one crappy picture to sort of show it

Nice looking truck. I like the white Taco. Is that your previous 4Runner parked next to it?

Thanks. And yea, I swapped the gold beadlocks to the new truck and the black beadlocks to the 4runner then took it to trade in.

I have been ballz deep into this 3d printer build. These are the first steps into eventually getting my headlight project underway!

This printer will be enclosed and will be able to print more 'engineering' grade materials. Print area is a 12" cube.

Just enough to look kinda cool.
My dad recently grenaded the front diff on his land cruiser and is wanting to regear/replace it. Any recommendations for shops in northern utah. I don’t know of any in Idaho really but we have family in Ogden and always like an excuse to visit.

Fat Bob's or Midnight 4x4 are up that way. Lotta folks will recommend Geoff Beers/Agility Customs as well, but last he told me, he's booked a few months out.

I would imagine Cruiser Outfitters would be able to assist. They aren’t up north, but land cruisers are what they do, so worst case, maybe give you suggestions.

BTW. I heard on the radio that Toyota is telling their Japanese customers that it’s a four year wait on receiving a Land Cruiser. No explanation given.

The LC line is super small volume compared to the other Toyota models, so it wouldn't surprise me. Plus the LC300 means new supply chain lines that need to be established and stocked.

Full DIY job or have some sort of kit/plan you're working off of?

Little of both? The printer is a 'voron' which is a community design from around the world. Some places do sell kits, but I still had to acquire various parts. The assembly guide is a guide. I had to consult the provided CAD files in order to straighten out confusing items of the build.

Slow and steady wins the race. I really hate 26awg wire..lol I am doing the main wiring for the 'hot end', extruder motor, thermister and two fans. I want to connectorize these because all these wires will be routed through cable chain. This will make maintenance easier down the road. Once I get all my routing down to the bottom, I will then work on the controller board. I need to consult the control board documentation. I have to configure many jumpers..

Once everything is wired, I will then begin the fun part of tuning the system and making sure everything works.... PXL_20220121_231954497.jpg

 That is awesome. I’m jealous. I don’t have the kind of patience to take on a job like that. Again, nicely done.

Keep us updated on the progress.

This is probably a noob question, so sorry for my ignorance haha my brother and I are planning a pony express trip this year to visit some family history sites and I‘ll be running on 285’s but I have my old 265/70 tires and wheels still, question is can I use the 265’s as spares or will that throw things off in the diffs? I’m planning on bringing two spares since I heard flats are pretty common out there. Thanks for any advice

270 by? It depends on how tall the tires are. If your in a pinch you can run a staggered setup i.e. one size up front and one size in the rear.
