I've got one too if you want to borrow instead of buy. And a 3/8-1/2" drive adapter if you end up needing that like @Gunshot-6A did  Though now I'm starting to wonder if he ever works on his own truck or just helps everyone else...

Needed it twice. :D Once to fix your loose bed, then once 2 weeks ago for bed stiffeners on Dan's truck.

Went and bought some of my own on the way to drop yours off.

Envision would be my first stop and has done some amazing work on a buddy of mine's 4Runner, including topo line details.

Ahn's Custom has also turned out some great looking work I've seen at Cars & Coffee.

There's been a fair share of helping, although half of my truck was put together and installed in Dan's garage back when I was in apartments, so this is just payback.

I gotta go under it sometime soon and find a small electrical bug in all my #EAF wiring before the BOR race in August. I think the wiring for my fridge may have contacted the heat shield for the cat and is now grounding on the frame, cuz something off the aux block killed the battery, I jumped it, then killed it again before I could start the truck. It's all disconnected for now until I can figure it out.

I don't want to say which one, but I had a bad experience with one of those shops. I really wanted to like the shop. I've seen some other work they've done and it's impressive, but they didn't get my truck done when they said it would be done, and then it wasn't done correctly so I had to leave it with them again. A job they quoted me at 2 hours ended up taking 4 days.

The other shop you mentioned looks pretty cool. I'll check them out.

Managed to poke a 1/2"hole tear in my rear diff while up in Idaho this weekend (no pics). I limped 30 miles back to town and fortunately found some quick steel and JB weld. We ended up swimming in a river for an hour for my quick steel to setup before driving back to camp. At camp I mixed some JB weld for some additional protection against the gear oil. I wasn't sure if oil will permeate thru the quick steel. Doesn't look the best but it got me back home to slc on our 300mi drive. I also topped it off with some 75-90 oil that I had in my backseat.

Funny thing is, I am not sure how I punctured my rear diff. We were literally 75 Miles into our fire road drive. I wasn't doing anything hard by any stretch. The diff looked like it was punctured from the inside out. The truck drives fine. No grinding gears. I also didn't back into anything...

I plan on taking my third member out and seeing if I have any chipped teeth. If I do have any chipped teeth, I will be surprised. The puncture in the diff definitely looked like it was from the inside out. My theory is that one of my nitro teeth finally chipped an then flew out towards the cover. It's a stretch on the theory front...

I also plan on cutting off my diff cover and welding on a new one from Barnes off-road.

On another note, I ordered some clazzio seat covers. These are leather and the installed pictures look identical to traditionally covered seats. I'll post more pics after I Install them .

Have any of you guys gone from a fat to a skinny tire? 285/70/17 to 255/80/17 specifically. About to pull the trigger on a skinny set but figure i'd ask for any opinions before I do.

I don’t think there is any hard evidence one way or the other. A pro to skinny tires seems like weight and a con seems like a smaller footprint.

How many miles do you have on the gears?

Clazzio makes a fabulous seat cover.

I've heard skinnys do better when aired down but idk, not really a concern of mine. I'm going to discount tire tomorrow in hopes they will price match tirebuyer...they have a 15% off coupon right now. Toyo Open Country ATIII 255/80/17 (finally, an actual 33.07" tire!) for $1034 after tax is a pretty sweet deal. The 285 variant is $350 a pop (vs $282)

    Actually, nvm. I forgot 255s aren't a good idea on a 17x9 tire...specially when airing down.

This thread has some good information if you wish to re-visit skinnies in the future. I'm running 255/80/17 and like em so far.

There's a whole thread on TW about skinny tires. I run 245s and go anywhere I want to and get better mileage.

I run 255/75/17s KO2s and love em. Mounted on TRD SEMA wheels, so 17x7. They are great off road, and work really well aired down.
Better MPGs (slightly), and they look rad also. I’m not a big fan of the big wide pokey-out tire look personally….

    Random request/question:

Is there anybody on here in the SLC area who has a GFC installed on a 3rd gen that would be willing to meet up so I could just take a look at it and measure a couple things?
Im on the fence about ordering one, and just being able to see one in person would be so so nice, and help answer some of my questions. I’m located in the Sugarhouse area but would be willing to meet you somewhere, maybe grab a coffee and discuss GFCs.
    Let me know, thanks!!!
