Fat bobs in Layton did mine and my brothers. They did a good job and fair priced.

They have them in house. If I remember right at the time with the plate and everything it was like ~$300. That was a little bit ago so not sure if it's changed.

I'm about to finish up selling my Taco and camper. I ended finding a buyer via KSL, after sifting through quite a bit of scammy stuff. Most people either wanted the truck or the camper, but not both so it took me some time find someone interested in the whole package.

Fat Bob's did mine a few years ago. I had them do it in conjunction with my suspension install and it was painless and didn't require any input from me.

I have reached out to a couple of friends. If I don't have luck in Utah, socal is a sure bet. Guys strive for a build like mine in socal. I still have lots of maintenance to do and it wouldn't be till the winter if I did sell it.

That is kinda my reasoning. My wife doesn't like the manual trans of my taco. If we take a trip in it, I have to drive the entire time. I have had my fun in the taco, but it is a little wide for the trails in Utah and also in the PNW which we plan to move to in a couple years. As with any vehicle, get a warranty and just enjoy it. Luckily with the Rubicon trim , it is ready to go out of the gate. Don't need to modify the crap out of it to make it a serious offroader. I have over 12k in suspension to make my taco a truly capable off-road rig (my doing, I used to pit for the Baja 1000 back when I lived in socal). IFS is nice but If you want a vehicle that is capable of doing difficult trails from the factory (with minimal damage), Jeep has Toyota beat.

Oh man. Out of all the reviews I have read, you seem to have gotten a gremlin. I have read other JT/ Mojave reviews and they are nothing but spectacular. How many miles did you put on it before giving it up?

Also, if you ever get a trailer the gladiator will tow it a lot better. The transmission they have in them is pretty awesome and equipped correctly that have a 7500lb towing capacity.

    not enough.
oh man. I know like maybe 1 person down there. Also check out St George/Washington area if you're having trouble finding housing. It is still within driving distance technically but depending on budget, may or may not work out.

I would imagine that cedar city woudl ahve much more affordable housing for students. but not sure.

Less than 15k before the engine threw a rod.

Definitely better tow rig. The 8HP75 8spd is absolutely fantastic, best auto I’ve ever driven. Always a perfect gear, responsive with decisive quick shifting, zero hunting, just amazing. However this is not the legendary 8HP75 made in Germany like all the other manufacturers use, to reduce costs FCA licensed to manufacture the 8HP75 themselves, which I was never thrilled about. It is manufactured in the USA though.

Lemme ask a few people that might know. I think one of them is one of the SUU heli IPs.

Is there some benefit or big program benefit SUU gives to GI Bill students? Youre like the 4th person I know of that is going there on similar circumstances. Just seems a little out of the ordinary for a smaller school like SUU.

SUU has a large veteran population especially within the flight programs

The veterans center on campus is a pretty cool place to hangout (or at least it was a handful of years ago)

I'm not sure if he's still at Fat Bob's or not but Joshua Christensen is an old friend of mine, he built the rock sliders I had on my very first tacoma back in 2013. I'd love to get another set from him but very rarely go that far north

There just isn’t any comparison between a Toyota and a Chrysler/Fiat.

My wife had a Jeep Grand Cherokee. There is a reason why Jeep earned the nickname Heep. I would never ever own a Chrysler product again.

we’ve had three Dodge trucks in our fleet at work, and they are complete junk. That’s not to say Ford doesn’t have its issues. Especially, on the 450 and 550, but nothing like the Dodge.

Yeah i wish they would have just had them built in Germany but I still have heard great things about it and haven't heard of them having any real issues off the bat. To me that's the tacoma's biggest draw back is the transmission, especially in the new ones and the towing is atrocious. Even with my second gen i have a two seater sxs and trailer which total weight is about ~2klbs and it has a hard time pulling that. I get's that not what they're built for but still, a little improvement there would make a huge difference.

Does it occur to anyone reading the recent postings about how great Jeeps are that someone is 1. highjacking the thread, and 2. selling Jeeps?

I've had my share of Jeeps and would only buy another if they came out with a 2000 small Cherokee again.
