UTAH (and Surrounding Areas) BS Thread

Does anyone in northern Utah do any rust prevention / undercoating? And if so, which product(s) do you use? Do you have it professionally done or do you do it yourself? Is frame rust prevention even necessary in Utah?

 

As easy as these frames rust, it certainly wouldn't hurt. Utah def isn't as bad on the salt as anywhere east of here, but road salt is a thing.

I know Fluid Film is popular amongst my friends that do it.

 

I'm looking for a good mechanic in SLC and down near escalate?

 

Why two places?

 

I live in Boulder? I'm up in SLC for a couple months.

 

So why two places? (SLC and Escalante?)

And are you expecting to need a mechanic in the two/couple of months you are here?

 

I'm looking for a long term mechanic in the Boulder/escalate area and getting getting my current truck buttoned up to sale?

 

Anyone recommend a shop in the salt lake area that will do a suspension lift?

 

I really like Plowgian Auto in Holladay but they're so busy you have to schedule an appointment. There are only a couple shops in all of Wayne and Garfield counties, so good luck with that.

Big O in Sandy is where tons of Toyota owners go. They’re great.

 

Corey left Big O and is now at some other off-road shop now. I’m sure Big O is still solid but Corey seemed to be the guy keeping it on the Toyota radar.

 

Hes there for a couple more weeks (24th?) I think I heard him say. But generally agree.

Another successful Moab trip on the books!


Wife and I spent last weekend doing the White Rim Road in Canyonlands. Up the Potash road, around the white rim, over and out mineral bottom, then across Gemini bridges. We camped the first night in Airport campground. The next night was supposed to be Potato Bottom, but being so close to the river with no access is bullshit. Plus we got there at like 3pm. So we drove in and found a great campsite above north mineral canyon right on the canyon edge. Way better.
