Simple question from a non-UT Tacoma owner: do I need to have a physical copy of the new OHV Course certificate, or will a digital screenshotted version do? I took the course and everything, just can't get my printer to behave to print it right, so I'm wondering if it can just live in my phone camera roll. Thanks!

Edit: Did what I should've done first and checked Utah.gov, it said either is fine. Thanks anyway!

If anyone wants a 48" led dune whip, I have one for free.99 to anyone that wants one. Just have to pick it up in Sandy, UT by Monday night.

Made by gorilla whips and is remote controlled with every solid/strobing RGB pattern known to man.

    Moving and need it gone.

Can you guys recommend some campsites for me. Planning a roadtrip in the beginning of June. Going Zion 2 or 3 days - Monument Valley - Moab 3 days - then from there to Yellowstone - SLC area - Vegas - Home. Looking for a nice quick spot to sleep overnight, not really going to spend much time at camp. Just set the tent, drop it the next day and leave for hiking and wheeling

    • For Zion I've camped outside of La Verkin off Sheep Bridge Road in the past. Might do it again
      • Was thinking Sand Hollow for a day but I've only been once, any recommended spots there?
      • Any other spots around the area towards Zion that are neat?
    • Moab I'm looking at Willow Springs Road, camped there in the past but nothing special
      • I know there's a bunch of spots around there, curious if anyone has any recommendations
    • I've never been to SLC before. I'm using it as a rough mid way point between Yellowstone and Vegas.
      • Definately want to visit Bonneville Salt Flats. Otherwise not sure what else to do/see.
      • Can anyone recommend spots to camp around there, or maybe further south of it?
Thanks a bunch guys, love your state. Going to be my lady's first time visiting :D

I've camped NE and close to Moab at Onion Creek. If you head toward I-70 and take the turn toward Goblin Valley and keep going west that road eventually ends up heading north to 70 and there are a lot of places you can camp. Some of the area around where it meets 70 has petroglyphs/pictographs but you'd have to google them to see where they are.

for willow springs road, be advised, they changed the classification of that area from BLM land to a state park and you technically have to pay per vehicle per night to stay there. i can't remember how much it is but it's not insignificatn for a weekend.

Darn, bit of a bummer. It's a nice spot, although that was mostly due to it being free. Quick google says $15/night. Found a website for it, looks like they have capacity limits now. Curious how or who actually regulates all of that, last time I went it was just open dirt off the highway a couple years ago.

Any idea if you can still wheel your way into arches national park from willow springs?

So, I’ve repaired the RTT, performed rust mitigation, and yesterday replaced the uniballs and bushings in my TC UCA’s, replaced the LCA’s and the tie rod ends. Additionally, replaced my boots on the driver side CV axle for the second time.

Everything went relatively smoothly. I used the tools I take on the trail, so I could verify I had most of what I needed. There are a couple items I need to add, but nothing major.

The worst part was by far removing the uppers. That bolt is a beeach! Pinched the a/c line, and now have no a/c and finding the part is being problematic. Mark Miller told me there is a national back order on the part. Doesn’t know if it will be two weeks or six months. Haven’t had a lot of luck online. I tried two other part stores.

Ended up reversing the bolt, which made it a lot easier to put back in. I had read somewhere that Toyota had approved that reversing the bolt was legit. Some have argued that gravity will work against the nut, which I suppose makes sense, but as long as it’s torque checked on the regular I should be okay.

A big maintenance year this year. Next month I’ll have my shocks rebuilt. Not sure how much of this maintenance I have left in me.

I know of one personal anecdote of that bolt backing off out of the many I know that have done it so I'd say you'll be more than OK.

Hope you get your AC fixed soon!

I THINK you still can. but dont' quote me on that.

Worse comes to worst, just drive in from the klondike bluffs area. that i believe is still doable.

    Hey all,

Does anyone know of a spot in the SLC area that you would trust to help remove a tricky camper from a truck. Forklift is required.

Essentially I'm having some issues with my bed, and need to take the camper off to address. So looking for a shop that can help and not drop the awkward thing and store it for me for a few days.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Kinda stressing

Maybe hit up Kurt at cruiser outfitters and see if they'll do it for ya. Not sure what storage room they have though.

    Thanks chief, will do.
I camp in Moab at least once a month and it's kind of a pain in the ass with how crowded it can and full of dilemmas about how far you wanna drive away from town, but theres always something. Close to town its all paid, either the BLM river spots or Sand Flats. Those are close and convenient to town if thats where youre wanting to be, but usually filled around the weekends. Dispersed camping is great northeast of town up along 313. You can get tucked away really easy if you head down Mineral Bottom or Spring Canyon roads, or north towards Dubinky. Or if you're really lucky and arrive midweek, you can maybe snag a spot at the top of long canyon but those are generally pretty coveted. And then you're kind of out there, so depends what you're trying to do while you're there. I usually try to mix it up and camp different places, but that's getting harder with crowds and if you're not tent camping, you still gotta leave something behind to keep your spot(Im sour about this because I've had chairs, water jugs, and wood stolen from dispersed sites 2 fucking times now). Willow Springs is kinda blah and dusty and busy, but you can go back there a ways and find some nice spots in the rocks. Same with Dalton Wells a few minutes north. Out east, the paid spots like Onion Creek are pretty nice and fill up last. Only really worth it if you're doing stuff out there tho. The Castleton climbers lot is good for camping too, but can be if it's not hot.

If you want to DM me your email, I can send some Google Maps pins

Probably going to want to stay relatively close to town. 20 or 30 mins away is no biggie but Onion Creek is out of interest time wise.
Might try to do a different campsite each night since, same as you, hate trying to hold a site and worrying about something getting stolen. Can’t trust people anymore unfortunately. Also I’ll be camping in Moab during the week, so fingers on some good sites there.
Are most of the paid river spots kinda tight? I remember passing by a few and seeing tents being fairly close to each other. River would be neat for maybe 1 night but don’t wanna hear the next guy snoring haha
All of those sound neat, Mineral Bottom, SpringCanyon roads, Dubinky, or the top of Long Canyon. Haven’t heard of them but I’ll definitely check them out
Thanks for all the info and would definitely appreciate those pins. Shot ya a DM. I’ll be camping Tuesday and Wednesday so might be able to skip some of the crowd and snap a good spot :D. Thanks a bunch for all the info
