So I might make it up saturdy. I just got a one piece driveshaft so i can finally feel comfortable offroad. I wanna go out this weekend to get a run in before a group run. What's a good trail around the slc area that's not to challenging? Was thinking 5 mile pass or maybe just up bountiful. Anyone got a recommendation for me? If my girl likes wheeling which I'm sure she will then we will prolly make the meet

I would say 5 mile pass if it weren't so hot. I'm not sure if the pass from bountiful to farmington is open but it would be a nice drive if you just wanted to get out.

It really just depends on your definition of challenging and your current setup.

Personally, I think 5 mile offers the most versatility as far as difficulty goes. You can keep the almost flat dirt roads, or go almost to the point you need a buggy.

Like Jason said, 5 mile will be hot, but if you want to go out there, I'd be willing to come along since its pretty close to me and its always best to travel in multiples. I'd be up for doing it sunday, or even saturday about 3:00 if you want a tag along.

Or if you wanted to check out some of AF Canyon and want to go explore, I've still never been up to the top of Miller Hill, or we could even hit the Graveyard Flats trail, which is pretty mild. Or there's Mineral Basin, which can get mean. Or if you just want a scenic trip, take the Alpine loop and then the back way to Cascade Springs. It'll be a 2+ hour drive, but it'll be nice and cool and mostly paved.

Dang I didnt catch your post in time would have been nice to have someone else out there. Thanks for the offer! We went out to 5 mile today, that place is pretty awesome. We definately hit alot of different trails. We went up behind some old broken down diesels that looked like they were just left up there. That trail up behind them got a little to much to go on with just one vehicle so we turned around and climbed some other stuff. I love these trucks! First time really taking it out since I got it and it is awesome. I tried to find rattlesnake but I dont know if we went on that trail or not.

So what time would you guys say we would be done saturday? Just found out my buddy has a fight out in Utah valley somewhere so I cant miss that.

Glad to hear you had a good time at Five Mile. There are a lot of fun trails out there.

Here is a map showing Rattlesnake.

I need to be back in SLC by at least 5:00 but I'm sure if you need leave early it won't be a problem.

Unfortunately, i'm out. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with lung cancer so i've gotta send my wife out to see her. Have fun and enjoy the fresh air. We're gonna stick around here and do some camping.

I'll pack something for lunch but also plan on driving to the springs to fish and end up in Heber.

I'll have a buddy of mine with me and our twelve year old boys.

We're also bringing stuff to make survival bracelets. Never done it before but wanted to give it a try.

That is pretty cool I wasn’t sure what you were referring to but that is pretty cool.
I liked these with the mini shackle.

I might not make the Cabelas group departing at 6:30 / 7:00 so if you don’t see me don’t wait for me. If it looks like I’ll be close Greg I’ll give you a call.

I just tied this, it's pretty simple.
