I'd love to go exploring as well, that's my favorite type of adventure. I often prefer smaller groups; generally speaking, its a little more personal and inclusive.

As for scratched paint, I may have complained about it in the past, but she is already scratched, and if it's in the name of fun, a few more scratches aren't the end of the world. I did get a Taco in the name of offroading, not for street running, nor polishing or detailing ;)

Shawn, feel free to get in touch if you would like to do some wheeling over the weekends, even if its just you and I, I'm sure we could have fun, and find some good trails.

Greg, should you care to invite me, I would love to join you, and I will do my best to be early.
I will PM both you and Shawn with my number.

EDIT: If anyone likes mountain biking, PM me if you'd like to go for a ride. I'm capable at both cross country, and mild downhill.

    Regards,
    -Jan

Yeah, I've talked to some people who aren't on TW and they said they might go to a meet up with fellow Tacoma owners but don't do the "off-roading" thing.

Well, honestly, it depends on your definition of off road. To me, the stuff the group has done together is more like dirt road/scenic driving, but I'm not sure I'd go as far as to call it off road. I'd say that most of the stuff done has been a 2 on http://www.utah.com/offroad/moab_trail_ratings.htm

So, if they just want to go out and see a few places that few go out and see, I dont think they'll be disappointed.

For instance, except for 5 mile pass (which I would call a trail instead of a road and therefore more off-roadish, even though we did take it very easy), my Garmin GPS has every road we've been on with its standard map pack. The roads are closed during winter and they are dirt and sometimes rocky/bumpy, but I'd still call them roads and not trails.

But hey, if thats not something they're interested in, they're more than welcome to come tag along and visit with us before we go out. I think its fair to say that more than half the people that come only come for the meet and dont do the trails.

Sounds like fun! Think another meet could be planned before winter?

More than likely. Only one more high altitude run before they close the roads for winter anyway.

I think the main problem is just that no one really knows the back roads good enough to say if everyone would be ok on it or not, so basically, no one knows where to go.

Yeah I know what you mean, but thats what 4WD is for! :D I recently checked out the thread: How NOT to Spot, that video was crazy. I guess if we dont have anyone with spotting techniques like that, I think we'll be fine.

Yeah I think we will have at least one more meet before winter for sure.;)

Exactly. I've still been trying to get out around Wendover but ever since I got my bike, thats been taking up a lot of my time. That and being at the Vegas meet for 5 days didnt help neither. I know Matt has been planning a lot of the meets but hes been busy with work and school.

Yeah your truck is great!! Just make sure to lock your hubs though!!:D

I'm sure we can arrange something for you. ;) There's just so many extra bolts and such.

I'm going to have to start carrying around a few extra bolts to just randomly hand to people.
