Looks like lots want to go see Kennecott.

Does anyone want to go do the visitors center beforehand? There's a $5/vehicle entrance fee. They have a short movie and lots to see and read. (Personally, this gives you a better idea what you're looking at how amazing it really is when you can see it from the reverse side as well.)

As far as extras in butterfield, well, most of it is private property. Maybe something can be found on the tooele side (Middle Canyon) though. There's always Jacob City as well.

That could be fun, do the mine then go over to Jacob City. It's true though not much to do up Butterfield other than the mine.

Since a couple had done the mine on their own I figured I would just do the same. Looked like an easy drive for the wife and kids. Then I would do whatever the group planned for the 21st.

Adding Jacob City seems like a cool idea. I did 2 seconds of research for Jacob City and found this article. It says that there is a pretty cool town up there but you might have to hike to it. Someone also posted a couple YouTube videos and it looks like much of it is just dirt road but one reported that the upper loop is Intermediate to Advanced.

If we did Kennecott--> Jacob City Loop, I think I would take my mountain bike and ride into town to see it and eat.

Ive been to the visitor center about 6 years ago so i would prefer to pass on that.

What do you guys think? Maybe meet in at the Smiths on 13200 S. 5600 W. at 8:30 AM or so?

Hopefully we can find a little more intermediate/advanced trails other than just the road to the mine. never been up there but hope to pucker the cheeks if possible. otherwise if it is more of just a meet and greet that is fine too

Should we narrow down the list of trails? Where do you think we can go with all these fires burning down the state?
