I want a hard shell cover that I can secure cargo on top as well as keep as sealed as the bed will allow. Companies like diamondback and renegade truck covers make a few different options however I would prefer to have a solid one piece lid design. I found a company that operates out of Australia and New Zealand (go figure) that produces covers that I’m extremely interested in but the don’t make anything for the US market. Does anyone know of any other companies that make a product similar? If not I will be fabricating my own.

Ohhh yes, I'm also considering making my own.

I also wonder how closely the Hilux bed matches the Tacoma bed?

There's obviously many ways to go about organizing a vehicle and it's all personal preference, but the idea of a single lid you can load stuff on top of (QD RTT) is what I'd prefer.
It looks simple, it looks straight forward and durable.

I've watched some close up videos of the UTE Master Load Lid from Ronny Dahl and videos of the Diamond Back Cover from LLOD to get an idea of what all the mounting points look like.

For me, wanting to approach this as easily as possible because reasons and DIY, the Diamond Back cover appears to afix to the bed rails with some pretty common hardware. That attachment method from the Diamond Back Cover + the overall design of the Load Lid should be pretty easy to duplicate.

I will admit, I have lot of details I want to flush out and idk when I can get around to building this but one way or the other I'll make it happen lol.

If you happen to make anything yourself I'd love to see what you came up with!

    Edit to add>>
Forgot to add, the most complicated part for me is figuring out how I'd lock it...
