Yeah dude. Especially with the style of our truck. All 3 of us have heavy expo style rigs with 35's. All that weight needs the 4.88's

Chase at ECGS is super knowledgeable and I went with what he recommended. 4.88's have been great in my truck!

For sure, and I think that's one of the biggest factors besides tire sizes mm is the weight. I mean my front skid weighs like 80lbs or some shit

I was trying to decide if I should trim for 35s or and then regear or do it all at the same time. I think this answers my question. Thanks

What size tires are you running now? You WILL have to trim to fit 35's.. at least true 35's. Depending on the tire you go with some run small

Do it at the same time. I knew at some point I would be in this situation I just really didn't want it to happen for another 2 months. On the next build I will be starting with gears and lockers.

I'm just running a 265/75R16 right now. I haven't gotten new tires since I lifted my truck. Im planning on a 315/75R16 which a little smaller than a 35, but I know I'll still have to trim the fenders and chop the body mount.

I think thats the route I'll go. I was already worried about 35s and stock gears in the mountains here in Colorado. I just wasn't sure how bad it would be. Thanks for the advice. I'll start looking for specials on a set of 4.88s.

Yup definitely need a CMC and cut the fenders.
I'd regear and put 35's on at the same time. You'll definitely want 4.88's but those with 31's will be hell. It was hell when I had them on 285's

That 4.0L would be screaming with 4.88s on 31s at highway speeds. I will start piling up parts and do it all at once.

Finally got both diffs back in, and drive line back on. Bleed the breaks and set the rear drums. Started the break in process, have about 4 weeks to get 500 miles on the new gears.

    Updated Todo List:
    1. OBA
    2. Framebox
    3. Pick up DOM for new cross member
    4. Get new serpentine belt
    5. Fix power steering pump leak
    6. Grease everything
    7. Pick up shaft from @northwesttaco
    8. Pick up a CV Axle for building spare
    9. Oil Change
    10. Fix Rear Flare Clips
    11. Get Leadnav System

Also ran the air lines, but still need to install the compressor, will finish the install next weekend. Anyone on here run the the ARB stainless lines?

60miles down 440 to go. I think 500 miles sound easier than it really is.
