I know how that goes all too well, it's a shame the weather took a turn just in time for the weekend. I had planned on drilling holes in my roof for the prinsu... instead I'm sitting here wrenching vicariously.

Got some more grinding done on the stock shock mounts, man those things suck to take off. Still have the driver side to do.

No kidding on that one, I spent more time than I wish to disclose on the first side... and gouged the axle. :annoyed:
The second side wasn't so bad but still a ton of work in the end. Where's your obligatory shooting sparks photo?

Yeah, it sucks and you have to be careful which is a bad combination. Did pretty good on the axle only went a tad deep in the frame once.

    Just for you @TacoSTIG

Started the day off getting the truck over to the shop to start welding on the relocation and finish cutting off the stock mounts. Thought it looked pretty good on the lift.
    IMG_0321.jpg

After starting work, the day just kinda got away from me and didn't get any more pictures of the work, but got relocation, and shock mounts and limit straps welded up. Got to flex the truck for time.

    IMG_0329.jpg IMG_4428.jpg

After flexing noticed I need to adjust the limit straps, welded them a bit to low and ran out of adjustment. Also going to have to run spacers in the rear to clear the shocks when flexed. I order a set of 1" BORA spacers last week should be here soon. Still need to paint the frame and towers, and finish welding up the CMC.

Awesome!!! I got 1" spacers in the rear too cuz of the rear shocks rubbing a little. It works out nicely cuz it helps the rear track width match the front since you're running the LT up front now

Yeah, I almost went with .75" spacers, but thought 1" would be better. I'm tempted to added some cross braces to the rear since i have the bed off, and maybe box it in a bit.

Well, got the suspension completed, bed back on and limit straps set.

Hoping the first week of June to order the armor. Any recommendations for skid plates?

    Looking good!

Having the bed off makes all of that work so much more fun.

We used a plasma to remove most of the stock mounts and then used a wheel to blast the welds and peel the rest off.
    IMG_20160226_142314.jpg

The lower shock mounts on the axle were the worst by far for me. Just a tight area

4x innovations will get you skid plates the quickest (usually keep them in stock) and extremely well made (1/4" steel IFS)

We started cutting them at home, and got the shop, and realized there was a plasma cutter there. Kinda made us mad we did it the hard way. Having the bed makes the work so easy, and it only took about 10 minutes to get it off, so worth it.

Thanks I'll take a look at them... didn't you do pelfreybilt?

I had Pelfrey but sold them for 4x. For pelfrey's rear skid you have to drill holes in the frame, 4x innovations there's a cross member that bolts up no holes required. 4x innovations is also a lot cheaper.. I'll get a Pelfrey aluminum gas tank skid at some point though

Ah rgr, I couldn't remember if you swapped from 4x to pelfrey or the other way around. I'll give 4x a look then.
