I will be at the Overland Expo Saturday. Never been so why not? Just put a little paint on the sliders and skid from the past few off-road adventures, at least they’ll be clean when I pull in!

Looks like a badass campsite. That at uwharrie? Is it open to the public for primitive camping or a pay site ?

There are a bunch of free sites along the trails and a couple within the park away from the trails like Yates Place. They do have payed campsites with amenities by the lake they are pretty expensive though. The sites along the trail you just have to pay for your OHV pass which is 5 bucks a day or 35 for a yr. Info on the first page as far as campsites go. I am sure there are more around also.

I have a pass for this year. It looked like he was camping on a waterfront peninsula. That is a really nice campsite. I dont like campgrounds so finding cool campsites that are free excites me o_O:thumbsup:

Yeah I know where you can get to some along the backpacking trails there but not ones that are free near the water. I am interested as well. Camping along the trails just doesn't seem that fun to me. I'd rather be a little bit removed from all the traffic.

Free, make a left at the end of the road and cross the ditch. Easy and away from everything

Got ya. Time to do some exploring then. Planning a spring camping, wheeling, and hangout trip with some guys from VA. This would be a perfect spot for us to set up.

I know we drove past all the campsites and went down to a boat landing and there is a crossing to the left in the woods at the end of the landing. I'm heading up to pisgah this weekend for a couple nights.
