There are plenty of trees out there to stop you mine don’t really work in 4lo. To low of gearing. There is no such thing as brake and raise the RPMs before going.

Shit- your always out there on Sundays. I pretty much assumed you’d be there.

State troopers and wildlife law enforcement at the intersection of cotton place Rd.. Grilled me like a criminal about what I'm doing out there. Where am I camping, what am I doing, and repeat.. Then asked what's in the cooler.. Drinks and beer.. Pour it out or turn around no beer allowed in the area..

They didn't seem to know the actual rules of the area, but were enforcing a no alcohol policy in the entire area, including camping..

Idk what crawled up their asses but I'm never seen that in the years I've been coming here. We are camping out away a bit, drinking our beer, and I'd they are still out there tomorrow I'm going to be asking them specific questions about what's going on, why the added enforcement, etc..

 

I've seen it posted and written somewhere that there is no alcohol allowed period. I've seen some posts where they are stepping up their enforcement.
A month or so ago when I was out there we saw sheriffs go hauling ass down the main rd lights and sirens on.

Had something similar happen to me at lake Norman state park a few years ago. Got hassled for sitting by the camp fire cooking a steak.

Also, most national forest and state park will have a no alcohol policy, so they weren’t incorrect in doing their job. Do I agree with it, no.

 

Oh yeah, wonder if that was an alcohol related incident, which is why they’re stepping up enforcement.

 

I think the way they go about enforcing assuming guilt and the way of being questioned is becoming more and more over the top with a lot of officers. I had state wildlife agents ask me what I was doing bank fishing. I was like well ya see these here rods I am fishing what does it look like I am doing.

 

Someone got killed last year and there was a lot of "masking" of what truly happened but it was kinda known it was due to alcohol. I wouldn't doubt that's what it was well maybe not the killed part but the alcohol part. Last time I was there I picked up at least 18 beer cans off the trails.
