i just installed 5.29s this pass weekend on 35's ( 1st gen MT). I haven't had much time behind the wheel yet but i did note that my gps shows 69 when the speedo shows 80 @ 3000rpm.

Still breaking in the gears but it's likely to high if you spend a lot of time driving on the highway.

Not sure about 1st gens but thirds I know are pretty good with 5.29s on 35s. 2nd I would recommend 5.29 on a heavy build. Lightweight on 4.88s should be good.

Correct, 3rd Gens if i recall correctly have 2 overdrive gears so 5.29's work really well. My truck's transmission is 20 years old and isn't nearly that fancy but its a crawl toy so 5.29's work great for me.

    I'm sure a 2nd gen'r will chime in soon.

Exactly. Except now it stays parked. No more joy riding around town. Missing 2 windows- the hood- I let the tag expire- no driver seat belt- broken tail light- probably more just can’t think right now

Me (white 3rd gen) and my dad (silver 2nd gen) are gonna be out on the FSR's tomorrow before every thing shuts down for the season. If anybody is out and about and sees us around, stop and say hey!

The obligatory "to busy to get any pics on the trail so heres one at eldorado outpost" pic.

Beautiful day, not to busy. Not much mud and hardly any dust.

    Today was a good day.
