Doesn't look like i'm going to be making it up there this weekend. Getting a simple alignment turned into fiasco and now I need to save money... :boom:

Went in for an alignment and they found that my alignment bolts were frozen so they ordered new bolts. Went to get the bolts out and they can't get them out without messing up the bushings so now I have to buy lower control arms, alignment bolts, and an alignment. I would do the LCAs and alignment bolts myself but they already have the truck apart. Not happy.

Well that's a shitty shop.. You can get new bushings and not new control arms. Make sure to grease/anti-seize them (which the shop won't do) so this doesn't happen again.

I'd make them cancel the new LCAs and order the bushings and adjuster bolts.

Called them and I actually talked to 2 guys and then the actual mechanic that will be working on it. First guy said that they couldn't order just bushings, which I said was bull. So then I talked to the mechanic and he explained why he's changing the whole arm instead of just the bushing. He said that he could change just the bushings, but since the bolts are already seized in there he's figuring he's going to have a hard time getting the bushings out. Which then he said that with the labor to get the old ones out, the labor would be about 80% of the cost to just get all new LCAs and if he ran into any problems he'd have to change the whole thing anyways. Which I see his logic in it. Kinda sucks that all this is coming up but after this I shouldn't have to worry about it. I also asked him if he uses anti seize and he said that he will. He said that whenever he sees a Toyota he always makes sure to use anti seize even if it doesn't need it he'll pull the alignment bolt out a little ways and add a little just in case. That made me feel a little better. I guess seized up alignment bolts are a common thing on Toyota's.
