I only know about it because an old friend told me about it, and I went and researched it one night. I’ve not walked it but I’d like to.

Cool to read the history and development of the 2 big ledges of Daniel throughout the year.

 

This reminds me. One of my good friends took his first gen up Daniel many years ago. I was supposed to have went with him this trip but something came up IIRC.

I went up there a while back. Just as depressing.. That's what being dumbasses, drinking/wheeling, "erosion" and "Indian artifacts" will do.

 

I kinda miss the 2 ledge mud put. Lots of dummies rolling their shit! Much fun to watch... Until the children were involved...

 

Don't forget botanicals and rock formations. I saw where someone was talking about actual archeological work around there for more artifacts. Man we didn't see any signs of that. Just old wear on the rocks from tires and metal crashing and horse shit from the horse trails that come up through there now. It is depressing. We saw a few today drinking and wheeling. I'm more pissy about it on the "public" lands because that'll get it shut down quick where private places they'll just kick you out forever and just make stricter rules about it. All we need is a few more alcohol related accidents, deaths, etc and they'll close it all down. Just look at what BLM areas and public OHVs are battling over in CA right now.

 

Seems you don't need the ledges to roll...

The kid, who didn't help with the recovery of his dads jeep, decided it was a good idea to drive up the embankment to let sxs by. He didn't pay attention enough to realise it was a huge embankment. Kid looked like a spoiled asshat. He also made his dad get in the jeep to turn the steering wheel when it got back on all 4.

 

The shit jeepers manage to do has long stopped surprising me.. The trail goes straight, you know I should drive off trail and try to drop into the trail... Or get off trail for God knows why...


If it's too easy, fucking go somewhere harder. /rant

 

In this case more like letting a 16 yr old drive with absolutely no experience, same with dad, offroad. SxS pulled off to let them by and the kid couldn't judge distances and how close he was to them not use to tight squeezes on a trail and drove up the embankment.

Eh his hand got smashed in the door apparently too so kid had a lot of embarrassment and injury to insult. I think dad was pretty worried because 2 of the kids with him were not his or so it seemed.
