Reading about people "discovering" kodak rock makes me feel old.

Edit: Me on it way back in like 2011 or some shit:

In all fairness there are plenty of asshat toyota owners, look at the 3rd gen forum or 90% of people who own an fzj80 for example, the jeeps just have them beat by total volume.

If the illegal bypasses keep getting made around the guard rails on some of the other trails I can see the same fate happening to them as this part of the trial.

It will. East coast wheeling is dead. In 2014 I moved to Northern AZ, near Sedona, and lived there for 4 years. Hundreds of miles of FS road. I bought a SxS and had either it or the truck out just about every weekend while I was out there.

Even after 4 years, there was a ton I hadn't gotten to. The public 4x4 stuff back here is a joke by comparison. I've essentially stopped wheeling after moving back to NC because why? Running the same 7 trails, only 3 of which have any remotely interesting obstacles, gets mind numbing.

So I moved to the beach and do beach shit now.

This was 15 minutes from me in AZ:

I've started taking tour rides through  load up with tourists and bump a rock here and there. I just like getting out and camping. URE is down to one trail with any decent obstacles, and I say that with the same Aussie lift and 33s I installed forever ago. No need for anything more to run and have fun here.

Speaking of I think in a few weeks(got other plans until May) it's time to make another camping trip and load up with tourists.

Yep public here is a joke. Thankfully there is a ton of private parks and I'm willing to drive. Plans are to do a few trips out west as well.

Yeah see I've never been a fan of driving 5 hours to go driving, or whatever. AZ was great because the trailhead was 10 to 30 minutes from my driveway and I could spend a couple hours, half day, full day, whatever.

You do you though - have a good time!

Depends on what you look at as the experience. For me it's the time spent with friends doing a common interest and the people you meet out on the trail.

I've never seen a SxS at URE with a driver that didn't have a beer in hand. I've had some before that liked to tailgate me on the trails...

    yep.

I have zero interest in tearing my shit up, doing trail fixes, or getting towed back home...so I don't mind just sticking to the easy stuff. I'm out there more or less just to hang with friends and get out of the house.

Meh depends on the trail. They aren't rutted out or big holes of that's what you're worried about. The rocks right after you leave the big camping area on falls dam are getting taller from erosion and people wheeling. I like seeing them get more challenging areas. Lots of illegal bypasses if you can't make it or dont want to try turn around and go a different way. The worse one was around the climb at RML
