Uwharrie National Forest " URE " permanent thread

Oh well mines a fit stout 80 lbs of muscle. Shit his size I thought maybe 50-60 lbs.

 

Regardless, wifey will be doing a sisters trip that weekend so me and Ullie gonna hit some trails and do some camping!

We might can make it down there that weekend. I'll mark the calendar

 

How is Ullie around kids?

 

Great! It’s just dogs. He may even be fine around other dogs if the girls aren’t around but… yea just dogs so far.

Gotta line some things up but I think me and the kiddo can make it.

I am kid free that weekend. Gonna have to get up there early to get "the spot".

 

Another group to watch out for Probably gonna be a sausage fest of Dad's trying to see some D's

 

And once they make up it those, they will be ready for the Harlan park entrance from the Putney side.

I can see the angry eyes, green headlights and thin blue line stickers on their rigs from here!! Avenged sevenfold pumping out of a doorless lime green JK named "the green machine"

 

I think we came in from the other side forget the name of the town. That's such a good park and beautiful. Only thing I can knock is the sheer number of absolutely hammered SxS groups that were chucking trash everywhere. We picked up an entire trash bag full and then some in a couple hrs not even trying, and we didn't even get all of the stuff we saw.

 

Evarts. I love Harlan but you are right, a lot of garbage on the trail unfortunately.

The Putney side is really just a campground and cabins. The entrance to the park is a pretty crazy trail on that side. Rocky switchbacks with a knarley ledge on one of them.

 

Gotcha yeah we stayed in an ABNB just outside of Evarts. It was cool being able to drive non tagged vehicles to and from the trails on the roads there. We did a bunch of trails can't remember them all but that so far is one of my favorite parks and not too terribly far. Next time we go I'm bringing the trasharoo and a bunch of garbage bags. We were the ONLY full sized rigs out there when we went. Saw the Ultimate Adventure crew leaving Fri when I arrived they must have been there earlier in the week. Cool seeing all them cruise by.

 

Go up to mason jar and look over the edge. Looks like a damn recycling transfer station. Sad really.

 

I don't think we did mason jar. I've gotta look at my map to see what we did.
