    I have been contemplating a more permanent mount.seen a nongrounding with cable for $60. i just use a handheld for now and magnetic mount works ok for my needs, but sometimes i dont like taking it on and off..

    Swr is easy if you’re not in the mountains. I had hell tuning mine in WNC. Not enough wide open spaces to get an accurate tune

    Walmart parking lot works. Also it doesn't need to be 100%. If you're gonna be using it in the mountains then tuning it in the mountains should be fine. Far better than any unturned SWR.

    Yea that’s what I ended up doing and figured the same. I could pick up truckers at the pilot about 3 miles from my house (but my house was at nearly 4K ft of elevation) so I had that to my advantage.

    I prolly need to retune it sometime soon.
