Putting a locker in without upgrading gears would be silly.

Now, upgrading gears without adding a locker... that’s a story for another day :anonymous:

You doing a lunchbox rear? I contemplated that for about 10 minutes the other day, sounds like road manners aren't great.

Haha yea I considered 37s for a bit.. I’d have to replace the D30 up front and AT LEAST beef up the D44 in the rear. I figure I’ll just wait til the motor blows and it becomes a full time toy. Then the real building will begin.. by then I should be in a house I own and have a shop..

Road manners of the Detroit in the rear is not noticeable until making a tight turn or really pushing the throttle while make a turn. You learn to ease into it until you are straight and know the locker is not engaged. Also, while in a curve if you gas-left off- gas- left off ETC. you will feel the Truck try to drive straight. But all in all, it’s no where near as bad as people make it out to be.

    This ^^^^^
How do you figure for the rear? I 100% agree with the front
Raced circle track for yrs with a much more tighter locker than the powertrax

I wish I had a ARB in the front so I didn’t have to constantly take it out of 4wd to make a tight turn.

How would that help with turning radius?

Maybe a stupid question, I just can’t wrap my brain around how an ARB up front would assist in your turning radius?

Ohhhhhh I was thinking he didn’t have a locker and wanted to add one to improve turning radius. That makes much more sense.. it’s been a hell of a morning and my brain is full..

Sorry for the stupid comment

Hey guys and gals, most of you know of Eddy and SOS Concepts, our local armor fabricator here in SC. Lead times are down currently at 6 weeks, great time to get in your orders if you have a need (beat the backlog of big sales). as always, 10% off the fab with code Jimbo (shipping, powdercoat and linex excluded from discount) Holler with any questions at all.

What Jimbo said. It’s got a lunchbox in the front, so anytime it’s in 4wd, it’s locked. When we went to busted knuckle Eddy kept telling me to quit taking it out of 4wd, I had to remind him it stays locked. It’s a real bitch turning. Unless it’s a football field

I rode in it this is totally true a lot going on in the cab of that truck. But its one hell of a rig. Need to make different sticks to bring them closer to you so you don't have to lean over and reach so far.

My Tacoma was hell to switch between the two, much less 4lo to 2wd.. I wish they’d go back to a manual transfer case
