V4 to v6 engine swap

I have a 4 cylinder 2000 tacoma 4x4. My local junkyard has a 1997 V6 4×4 tacoma for $500. It has about the same amount of miles as mine and the engine bay is all there and works. I want to see if I can swap the V6 into my V4 and what all I need to pull from the truck and use.

 

Why? Is the 4 blowd up?

 

Tacomas don't have a "V4" they have an I4 (Inline 4).

 

Engine frame mounts are in the wrong location for a v6. You'd have to cut the mounts off the v6 frame and weld to yours.

 

Pull the entire harness and make it easy. It's been done before, I'd buy the entire truck and have everything available. Is this for the same street racing truck?

 

Or what other 6 cylinder engines would work with my truck.

 

If you are gonna go through the hassle, skip the 6 cylinder and get an LS motor and T56 to drop in

 

Is there A thread or video about doing the LS and t56 swap? Thnx

 

Not sure to be honest, but you will be swapping a good amount of things around. That would make more sense to me if you are already gonna be putting in the work

little too “hot rod” for me. I would make it a sleeper personally. Keep as much original as possible
