How often do you change the fuel filter in your V6? Is it a tough job? Thanks:)

These Tacomas were engineered with a new style fuel filter that doesn't need to be changed and is part of the fuel pump. Given our gas in the US is pretty darn clean, engineers determined that our fuel filters didn't need to filter down to as many microns because it only made for higher change intervals. The fuel pump/filter assembly is all one piece and they're banking on the fuel pump going and needing to be changed before you need to worry about the filter restricting fuel flow. The research I've done says this shouldn't be a problem at all. Lots of people are skeptical but I for one subscribe to the no external fuel filter system in these trucks and thank engineers for thinking outside of the box.

Usually looking at a 40k mile change interval for external fuel filters. I sure as shit wouldn't scrap my stock setup for the sole purpose of adding an external fuel filter that requires more maintenance that's for sure. Just creating more work for yourself is all.

I'm glad I swapped out personally..... We found some steel scraps in the sock. Very strange for sure.
