Some of the US guys are getting 21-22 MPG with the 4.0 V6 , but they must be all highway miles

I am in Canada and I am averaging just over 20 mpg with my 4.0 V6 double cab TRD 4x4. The truck is almost never on the highway and my commute to work will average about 80 km/h till I hit the city then 50km/h until I get to the office, about 15km of each, each way.

Sounds like my usually driving. That's about the sweet spot for me. I don't get good highway mpg really. 22-23 maybe at best

I consistently get 17mpg. I drive 75-85mph on 90% interstate in rush hour. That is real world driving passing women in the left hand lane on their cellphones. I drive 60 miles round trip and maybe 11 miles is two lane at 45. I could definitely get better milage but people around here do not know how to correctly use a 3 lane interstate.

OK Boys! To do this properly you have to tell people how many liters you used per 100km. This is how it's done in Canada and in the rest of the world, where the metric system is used!!!Not this how many km per liter crap.
    WTF!!??
    mine uses 11-13 liters highway

Good to see this thread rolling again.

Filled up this morning with 59.1L for 460.5 km. 7.79 km/L, 12.83 L/100 or 623 L per tank. Not as good as last fall but was hauling alot of gear around.

Well I just had a freak of a tank. Light came on at 677.8 km and I managed to get 9.42 L/100km. That's clearly my best tank. I'm averaging 10.7 L/100km at the moment. Most of my driving in a 2 lane highway which I drive at 90 km/h. There are a few small towns that I pass through on my way to work with stop lights and such and with a speed limit of 60 km/h.

I'm coming off a 2003 Ford Escape Limited which had a slow tranny leak for 2 years so I got used to feathering the pedal and keep the rpms down.

Things I do to try and get decent mileage:
    - I stop filling my tank once the pump clicks
    - Keep the tach under 2000 rpm
    - Let off the gas going down steeper hills
    - Maintain my speed going uphill but not afraid to lose some speed if no one is behind me
    - I don't use my cruise (I probably will on longer flatish rides though)
    - Accelerate somewhat slowly and smoothly

It was one of the tips on the Fuelly site. I have no rationale for it but things seem to be working for me.
