I have to agree with most of this. I too seem to get higher than most and have most disbelieve what i am getting. The most KM per tank we ever got was 711 km, BUT we drove for over an hour with the light on and put over 72 liters into the 80 liter tank. I don't recomend this but just wanted to see if I could crack the 700 barrier a few years ago. We where sweating it cause the guage was really past the empty mark. Truck suspension was stock.

Since the lift we get a little less but can easily get past the 500 km with a quarter tank left 50/50 city highway. It really depends on old man style driving and i believe in synthetic oil and regular changes. I just walked outside and took this pic, believe or not.

I just fueled up for the fist time in a while, 1.14.9/L for 87 octane, got 313.7 miles (US truck) on 57.87L. That translates to 15.29 gallons @ 20.5 mpg!!

96 xcab 4x4 w/ new plugs, mostly highway.

The second gen V6's are 4.0 while the 1st gens are a 3.4. Results will differ with the 1st gens and 2nd gens.

Anyways... 450 kms or 17 mpg

was getting 16.5 MPG with 87, switched to 91 on the last fill up and got 18 MPG (500km on 65L), about 80% city driving.

    87 octane - (16.5 MPG) 14.25L/100km = $15.38/100km @ $1.079/L
    91 octane - (18 MPG) 13L/100km = $15.85/100km @ $1.219/L

for the $0.47/100km (approx $2.35 per tank) more it costs the run 91, I think I'm going to keep running 91.

As do I. Last time I did the math it was more economical to burn 91 vs 87. I'm driving more highway now so I don't know if this is still the case. From what I can understand 91 is cheaper to run in city driving in some newer vehicles, where as highway it is not the case. My truck runs better with 91 holds gears longer on grades and is just overall funner to drive when running a premium fuel.
Last tank I got 515 kms to the gas light. Tires are coming to the end of their life.

I tried premium for the last few weeks. I logged liters, distance and price of both premium and reg when I filled up. Had my best economy with Esso at 8.54 km/L or 683 km per tank. Worst was with Husky premium at 7.63km/L or 610.4 km per tank. I routinely get 600 km per tank or better with 87 octane gas so I used 600 as a baseline. After crunching the numbers there was about a 2% gain with the better premium gas. I'll be avoiding Husky gas in the future. I'm still on the fence if premium is worth the higher price; too many variables to say for sure.

I usually fill up around the 500KM range. If I'm doing all highway its more like 600
