I picked up an ecoblock. Only had it installed for a couple weeks now but it's been through a couple thousand km. Didn't notice any difference on flat straight highway, did notice a difference on curvy mountain highways (about 8% or something like 1-1.5mpg). My city driving isn't consistent enough to ever get a proper indication of eco block impact.

I just read that post and am seriously considering it. The extra power to hold a gear going up hill should translate into big savings for me with my slide-in camper. Lots of down-gearing on steep grades with that thing in my mountainous part of the world. Not keen about cutting a hole in that engine cover. I may explore spacers.

I run 33" MT Baja ATZ P3's and was getting around 365 kms on 70 litres of super. That is after the four free dealer oil changes.

Since the free oil changes were no more, I did my own with Mobil 1 5-20 full synthetic and an expensive Mobil high capacity oil filter. (I installed a Fumoto valve at the same time.)

I thought that I may have forgotten to reset my odometer, because I went 660 kms on the next tank of super (Montreal and back at 120 kph). I couldn't believe it. I fueled up upon return and only used 65 litres of gas for the 660 kms.

I reset the odometer to 0 and went another 550 kms on 52 litres of gas.

Is there something to be said about dealer oil? The truck starts easier, engine runs smoother and is more responsive, and the valve train no longer sounds like shaking a bag of marbles. Its quiet.

    I'm happy now!

Good to know. I never bothered to look that up on this vehicle. My range must not be quite as bad as I think - the gauge just gives me a bigger safety buffer than I'm used to :)

Low fuel light is usually on by 350 km, running 285/70R17's with a 3" lift.... :(

Still asking myself how you did this achievement! My 2.7 does 10.5 L/100km mostly highway... and I keep it on cruise control at 100-105 km/h. If I knew it was possible I would had buy a 4.0 haha!

Isn't a full tank around 68 litres or so? 550kms. on 52 litres sounds suspicious.

    Full tank.
Taczilla said he gets 550kms on only 52 litres. On a full tank he would get 700k +. That's insane.

In perfect hi way driving conditions I've gotten 550kms with 62 litres back in on reg. I have more back space and heavier rims than most tho. I can believe his numbers on a stock ish setup
