Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Thinking about getting rid of the reg cab 4cyl. The grandkids want to hang with me more, fishing and camping, and I need some more seats. A DC is way out of what this logical man would pay for a 10 year old truck. Been looking at 2002 4Runners. What really significant scheduled maintenance should I check for besides the timing belt? Thanks

Yes, looking at 4Runners but the 3.4v6 is the same. Each type engine may have their particular "things" of concern. I know the timing belt is a significant ordeal on the 3.4. Any other regular maintenance operations which I should check for?

Check the frame for signs of corrosion. It generally rots from the inside out. Toyota did a rust treatment in some regions, extending the corrosion warranty by 15 years.

The timing belt should be done every 90,000 miles. It is not a huge ordeal, just takes a few hours and some patience. It cost me$250 and 5 hours on a Friday night.
