V6 piston direction

    I am just trying to confirm that I am understanding what it says in Haynes correctly. They say (I think) that the markers on the piston rods (studs on the rod side, holes on the cap) ought to face towards the front of the engine (in the direction of the time chain). That matches the side of the piston where it says "Toyota", not the side where it says "Aisin". Is that correct?

    I forgot to take a note which side was forward when I was taking them off.

    My manual shows what looks like a “Dot” facing forward. Which it calls the “Front Mark”.
    You can see in in the picture below.

    @TnShooter that is probably a better guideline than Haynes, which is referring to the markers on the connecting rod but their wording is kinda clumsy and convoluted

    Yes, I just went to the shed to confirm. That dot on top of the piston matches the side of the piston where it says "Toyota" and where the markers are on the rod in the bottom
