I recently bought a 2000 tacoma prerunner with a TRD supercharger kit already installed. It has the 7th injector kit and the Kenny "Bell boost a pump" on it. Its currently boosting 5 pounds.

Whats the maximum boost I can run safely? And where should the "Boost a pump" dial be set at?

Id say for a DD 7 psi. Think about it this way, do you really need to be running anything more than these for everyday driving? Save the boost and internals for when you need it.

welll for myself i dont punch it daily but if my truck is able to do something that i have spent the money for i would want it to do just that, if he has the injector kit he can actually run 10 if he wanted but stick to 8-9 and should be straight, and as for you boost a pump, just mess with it when you get on it and listen to see if the engine runs smooth, should probably only need it around 5% im guessing

Correct me if I am wrong- if a supercharger is merely a belt-driven screw compressor, electronically dialing boost is, what I thought, bypassing air, not slowing it down. By this logic, dialing your supercharger for less boost with a boost controller vs. letting it run to it's maximum potential does absolutely nothing beneficial for the actual supercharger itself. Can anyone argue against this?

the boost pump that he has does not control the psi of the supercharger it is controlling how much fuel is being delivered to the engine, to control the psi you have to put on different pulleys

now i figure i'd get in on this with my question, if he wants bigger boost, and to do that you need different pulleys, does that mean he needs bigger or smaller pulleys to run a higher boost

Thanks for all your input guys. I'm going to order a pulley from URD but I'm debating on the 2.2 or the 2.1. The 2.2 will increase my boost by 1.5 to 2 pounds and the 2.1 will increase my boost by 2 to 3 pounds. The guy at URD suggested I go with the 2.2 because of the crappy gas here in SoCal (91 Octane). For the "boost a pump" I currently have it cranked 3/4 of the way.
