now that winter is here I begin to think about boosting tow power in my 2WD Taco, for the life of me I cant find any info on slipping a V8 Ford or Chevy engine into a 2nd Gen Taco, maybe just going with a TRD super charger might be the way to go if they even still have them

Way too much work, just get the TRD blower. It's still available and should run around 5000 installed or low 4k if you install yourself.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Idk why you'd want to put a Ford or GM motor in a Taco, the 4.7 Tundra V8 is a pretty common swap and there are write ups about it on TW. If you really want to go all out, put a 5.7 in that bad boy!

Assuming you have a 4.0, the cheapest/easiest route would be to supercharge it. Be just like having a V8 after that.

Be cool to see a 2nd Gen v8 swap. A buddy of mine did a 302 in a 1st gen.

LSX setup is nice and compact compared to most other V8's and the aftermarket is immense. Coyote engine will be pricey. No bonus using a toyota V8 in my eyes over the ford/chevy.

It has been done twice from what I remember but is talked about more than anything.
