    I am more into overlanding and easy to moderate trails, nothing hardcore or rockcrawling. Just want to fit 33’s without rubbing issues.

    I really like the wider look of 285's or even 33x12.5's but if you want a good tire for trails and really any condition check out 255's. 255- 85R- 16's is, I believe the 16" size and 255-80R-17's are the 17" size. They are a taller skinnier tire usually a true 33" tire but only about 10.5" wide. This lack of width alows them to get great traction and helps elleviate rubbing issues. Some folks actually get away with no lift with these tires but a mild lift ensures great clearance and no rubbing. I've had mine for a couple of years now and love them. No CMC was required, I did one but just because I wanted to. It's an oddball size but a good number of the tire manufacturers make them. They don't look as skinny as you might think either.

    Awesome! Thanks for the tip on that tire size, I will definitely look into those sizes. I was going to go with the BFG K02 in the 285/70R17 C rated but now with this info I may have more choices.
