Looking for something within 6-8 hour drive. My birthday is in july and i'm not sure what to do, thinking of a short 4 day trip someday. Any thoughts of resorts or cool out door places to see, maybe somewhere in Colorado?

Moab or San Juan Mtns (ophir, engineer, black bear, etc) in Colorado are the most spectacular options, but that's a bit of driving for a 3 nighter. Big Bear Lake area northeast of LA is closer, has lots of cool trails in the 6000-8000' range, and neat resort style villages on the lake. Or you can just do some road trippin in the AZ high country hitting POIs like Cinder Hills, Sycamore Point, Lava cave, etc... maybe even some trout fishing if you like that sort of thing.
