we used to have one of these monsters. Wife did not like it. Too heavy, pain in the butt for her to use hose attachments, emptying the bag was a big mess.

I swear by my Dyson, I have 2 german shepherds that shed all year round....lots.... and that thing keeps on going. It comes a part quick and easy and its easy to clean. The new ones seem pretty cool but I dont have the ball steer style..... just as good though.

Use to have a Kirby but got waaaay to expensive to fix and it was a pita to empty....

Who makes the kenmore? And all years weren't made by the same company.

Bought a Dyson animal type vacuum cleaner

Had a rainbow and it would suck shit thru a rug but again you always had to fill it with water then empty it and that sucks.

Now have a Riccar with bag and it's about 5 years old....I really like it since I'm the one that gets to use them. I'll stick with riccar as that is my second one. Nice to pull a bag off then slip a new bag on. Plus you can get the smell good stuff to put in the bags so it's pleasant to smell while you vacuum the f_ cking floors. (Oh what joy---I thought God made women for these things)

All of mine were uprights except the rainbow and it wasn't bad. Lasted about 15 years.....

I have an Oreck, mom gave it to me, I use it once a month, if I remember. No I am not married, yes I have a girlfriend. Shop vac my truck once or twice a week. Putting in wood/laminate floor soon so my opinion will change soon, better yet let me ask the girlfriend, she does that more than I do. Not because I refuse to, but I am sick of my old carpet and hate it. It never looks good...

Used to have a Dyson, but the hose on the bottom finally gave out after 8+ years, loved it though easy enough for me to use, now we have a eureka "the boss" and its not as good as the dyson, lots cheaper though...;) more money for more important things...

Riccar 8900 series! Can't say enough good things about it. For a guy who hates all the cleaning crap, this vaccum rocks! Suction beyond belief, carpets smell better, auto adjusting height, and a ton of other options. American made too!

Dyson is out cleaning up dirt while the Hoover is greasing consumer report editors palms to get favorable ratings.
