My wifes dad gave us a kirby when we first got married. It was one of those that you had to turn the belt pilley 90 degrees when you changed attachments. Hated that thing. Also this was a bagless and everytime you turned the jet motor vacuum on the bag would expand with air real quick and you could see a cloud of dust around the bag when you first started it.

I had a wind tunnel once, what I didn't like about it was when you are using the attachments the sweeper brush continues moving. I had some old indoor/outdoor carpet in the basement of a house I lived in in ohio it was the kind that had a lot of nylon in it. Well one day I was sweeping the steps using the attachment and the sweeper brush actually marred the carpet somewhat where the brush just continued to whirl while I was hosing the steps. Thats when I went with the dyson as when those are in the upright position the brush doesn't turn.

I noticed this vacuuming today but it won't be an issue since the Hoover Platinum Windtunnel comes with a seperate cannister vac for use of the attachments. :D

I must say that it was nice to vacuum the house today with a lightweight vac., put it away and then sling the cannister vac over my sholder to vac up the couches, corners, etc., etc.

.......I guess there really is a thread for nearly everything at TW:D

Replaced an old Bissell couple of weeks ago and wanted something that would last.
Researched extensively online and considered the popular Dyson model, but ultimately settled on a Miele after seeing vids of both compared heads-up.

Country of manufacture was also a consideration and as many products go, it's hard to go wrong with German-made appliances...............
