One of the hoses that comes off of the evap canister vents into the frame rail. Is the fuel siphoning through the evap and out that hose? You should be able to pull it out of the frame.

To my knowledge there isn't any fuel lines inside the frame, other than the vent @nzbrock mentioned. Its been a while since I've looked at my lines but I believe the fuel line is one of the hardlines on the left side of your picture. Id trace the line from the fuel filter which is a little further towards the rear, and see if you can find anything as you follow it up.
I'm not sure how else fuel would be getting in there, as you are right its draining right out of the frame..

Yes! Just pulled it out of the frame and that’s the one gas is coming through.
@time623 it appears to be that vent line coming from the front end of the canister

Also noticed the vacuum switch doesn’t even have an electrical connector attached to the plug. Could this potentially be bypassed as well by the previous ingenious owner? IMG_5727.jpg

Got to love cleaning up the last guys problems damn..
For me its been cleaning up the problems I caused working on my truck in high school.. Many mistakes were made..

Take a good look around and make sure that connector isn't hanging around loose anywhere in the engine bay. Maybe you get lucky and can just reconnect it?

Not sure if plugging that in will fix the problem or not.
I also did a google search for fuel overflowing through the evap vent hose, and found a lot of talk about an Overfill Check Valve: https://community.cartalk.com/t/fuel-leaking-out-evap-vent-hose/145490.
Moved that term over to tacomaworld and found this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/overfill-check-valve.332553/
Different CEL but they do say the check valve is to prevent overflow, and you've got overflow

Well you at least know something is wrong with your evap system. A new canister isn’t exactly cheap, but u can’t imagine it’s any good anymore if you’ve pumped gasoline through it multiple times.

Not to beat a dead horse, but i figured i would share my solution in case someone is as unlucky as me.

I pulled the EGR temp sensor and cleaned it really good and reinstalled and that cleared my P0401 code. I also noticed, after looking under several other Tacomas, that my return and EVAP fuel lines were swapped at the tank, previous owner did a fuel pump job so it would make sense. A simple swap and no more leak! still cant explain the missing Purge VSV connector, but if its not broke i wont fix it. Thanks to everyone for all your input and help!!!!

Good to know, as mine just threw that code. Thanks for updating with your solution.
