I'm new to the forum. I am not new to first gen Tacos, I now am on my third.

I have a what seems to me like a trivial matter I have need to replace the vacuum switch valve. All of the websites I find say I need the Vacuum Swith brand: Dorman 911-610 but what I have already in the truck is the Toyota OEM part 25860-75100 switch matches the Dorman 911-603. I bought the truck from my dad a couple weeks ago, it is a V6, I have had only 4cyl engines before. What I am finding is the 911-603 is for the 4cyl and the 911-610 is for the V6. Since the 603 is the installed equivalent, the hose lengths do not fit the 610, I realize I should and can easily replace the hose as they are cracked on the inside so I can change them. The 610 also is bigger and does not look like it will fit were it is and looks as if the hoses need to be narrower, obviously that is a problem where the other end would connect. The 610 is also twice the $$ as the 603, if I get the factory part it's 4 times the $$.

My questions is: does it really matter if I get the 610 or the 603? My dad has no input as he does not remember if he ever had it replaced, so asking him if he replaced it with the cheaper part is not helping. Thanks in advance.
