First off: wow. This is such a clean build. I’ve been working on a very modest build of my own with some 8020 and drawer slides. Some things I wasn’t satisfied with on my build that you have is
    1. My latches. I used the round pull latches that everyone used and you seemed to go with the ones goose gear uses. What type are they?
    2. What material did you use for the top surface of the drawers? I used 1/2” ply and it flexes way too much.
Anyways, kudos to you on the build, it came out awesome!

It does! The 1/4 inch HDPE seaboard is strong.

I used southco latches. The "catch" is adjustable so it makes it a little easier to install.

The surface is a "smoothish" bedliner coated over 1/2" birch and 1/8" birch for the walkway panels.

I honestly never thought in starting this thread that it would be so informative but I want to thank each of you for contributing your genius-level ideas and your willingness to share what you’ve done here.

So I’ve FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY got the build going. Many things have come up that have kept me from pursuing the kick off. @danneskjold and @MJonaGS32 have heard this far too many times lol. I’m actually grateful that I’ve had some extra time to really get into the nuts and bolts of what suits my needs in the bed build.

You guys have ALL knocked your builds out of the park!

    The beginnings...
I laid everything out as if it already had a home. I kept things there for numerous trips. From that process, I’ve decided on only building out the cabside and passenger side, leaving the drivers side open for now. (Water tank will be mounted horizontally with the pump nearby).
I still have the final paneling and insulation to rivet in but that too is on standby pending exterior gear placement. *I love this hatch door!

Glad to see more and more people building out their Drifters. Great work everyone!

Just know that it's a process. I was in the first batch of Drifters and have modded it a good amount since, but there's still a box of mods in my garage that I've yet to get to. With or without mods, the thing is just so awesome to camp in. I can't even explain to you how simple everything is (used to sleep in bed wide open, then two different RTTs, now the Drifter).

Damn, I will just be getting back into Canada. About to start the Washington Back country route, or attempt parts of it this late in the year, who knows!!!

Baja Designs Squadron Angled Flush on the sides with the yellow filters on them.

Amazon cheapo light over my tire for entrance/cooking illumination. Actually thinking about swapping out to an S2 so I can be Baja all around but also trying to not spend money...

Here's a shot from camp tonight where you can see the lights

Does anyone remember a guy, from Colorado doing cabinet & interior builds, at the last expo West? Phil mentioned him but doesn't have his contact info and I have been unsuccessful in locating him.
