That’s the same thing I was thinking. Any water that lands towards that corner is going to be directed right down into the area you’re trying to keep dry.

I'm about to install my King lift this weekend with OME dakar leafs. Yesterday I added leaf liners between all leafs with 30 lb heavy duty double sided tape and I bought 8 Toyota OEM bushings (yes they fit). These leafs should be extremely quite even after off roading.

I am 99 percent sure I am going with Nitto Ridge Grapplers size 285/75/17 tire. This is a 34" tire which should fill up the wheel well nicely.

Personally I heard bad things about Duratracs. I used to frequent the 4runner forum and lots of people had side wall punctures on them.

Look at the 255/80/17 Nittos. That’s what I have and I still get 16-17mpg on stock gears

I like the look of 285's little better. I had 255's one time and when I switched to 285 in my previous 4runner. I really liked the look of 285's and ran KM2 tires for 6 years.

    285 70 17 KM2 11.5 width
    285 75 17 Nittos 11.26 width

Little bit skinnier but that's okay with me.

You should go with a poly bushing over the rubber bushings and hopefully you added the Add-a-leaf to the pack or you will be later for sure

Yes get the AAL and air bags. My springs have flattened due to the drifter, yet I am. Under the constant weight rating of thE springs.

Too late I already put 2 of the OEM bushings in the OME Dakar leafs. I would be a major PIA to take them out now. I want stock quiet ride so going to try these. The Dakar poly bushings seem to not be grease-able (no zerk fittings). This will equal annoying squeaks in a hurry in no time. No thanks.

Gonna keep the Drifter build kind of lightweight anyway. No storage drawers, etc. Just a fridge and miscellaneous camping supplies.

    Poly>rubber. Every time.

Good luck keeping the camper not built out. It’s addicting.

And my truck was going to stay stock when i bought it.
Now theres hardly any stock parts left on it

I’ve seen the Quikfire before just not in person. Just ordered. Fire bans in SoCal all over the place...for good measure of course. Hoping it provides a good amount of heat!

The swingout and Decked system also contributes to the weight. I think the Dakars would work well with the Drifter alone, and a light interior build.

Those are Dakars holding up the 4wc in my avatar. I should probably change that sometime soon...

When I bent my shackle hangers and had to go to a shackle flip (no tension hangers were available at the time), they went flat. Rode horribly when resting on the overloads.

The shower stalls will be shipping out in early December. We don't have a date on the awning and haven't received pricing confirmation. I'll report when they get back to me.

All good choices. I'm a separate (side & rear) awning kinda guy, but the Kinsmen might persuade me. It is available for the passenger side.

The pricing is $1,350 until Sunday. After that it goes to $1,450.

It looks like, when mounted to a Drifter, anything sheet flowing to the inside will hit the awning track and roll to the side. The side mounted webbing loops, in conjunction with some guy wires, will direct it the water to that point. Not sure if that will direct water away from the camper. We will definitely test this out.

OH yeah they all contribute, but those are all factored in on the weights for my constant load. Regardless, ARB is warrantying me with brand new leaf packs and replacing the two front shocks as they have both started to leak and have sagged(one was leaking before the drifter, the second started the other week). So that means I am going to have 4 brand new BP-51 shocks and an OME leaf pack (new) for sale herein the next few weeks and two sets of used rearr BP_51's for sale. I pulled the trigger on kings(2.5", valved to my conditions/weight by Baja North herein BC, and extended shafts), deavers (stage II U402's, talked with Baja North and Deaver directly) and Total chaos UCA's( Cannot wait the built in 4degrees of castor is going to make fitting these 34x10/5" KO2's in the wheel wells so much easier, and I can add a cpl degrees to get even more clearance) so I should finally be accepted into the drifter family. Its just too damn bloody cold right now to install them myself outside. Sadly I am going to have a shop do it for me I suspect, unless I can find a heated garage I can borrow.

Also, considering i am going/trying to sell the decked system to reduce weight, curious as to what these goose gear systems weigh in at, no not interested, well I am a bit, just curious as to how much one of these systems weighs as they look a heck of a lot lighter then a decked, perhaps i need to start building an 80/20 system Just damn pricey. Probably will just end up with the ARB storage system and use the last foot against the front of the bed to store my water tanks

I'm installing mine this weekend in the garage.

I bailed on them as well. Less things to do is better. I would never adjust them anyway. Set it and forget it.

We’ll have accurate weights on the Goosegear setup at the end of the month! Longbed and shortbed weights.
