1200 lbs over stock. I just got back from a work trip so I haven't driven it yet. Plus I just sold my rear bumper and currently waiting on my new Relentless bumper, so I probably won't have an accurate assessment of the leaf pack until then. However, a lot of the NorCal folks have the same custom leaf pack so they might be able to chime in @tacomgee @jberry813 @Mademan925 @Gply

It can definitely be used with the oem shackles and hangers, but if you're going to change out the leaf pack, it might be a good idea to swap everything out all at once. However, if you don't really plan on offroading, I guess you can skip that step. I've already managed to bend one of my BAMF shackle hangers and had to replace it. Would have been a lot worse if it was the flimsy OEM ones.

Thanks for the semi review. I will definitely get the BAMF shackle hangers in the future. This is one of the first things that gets hit when someone gets a high clearance rear bumper.

Phil was at GooseGear last weekend. I messaged them and they said they will be willing to meet me so I can check out the Drifter. But I guess they got too busy. Definitely need to see one in person soon.

Come out to the @ocoverland (IG) toy drive this weekend! There will be at least one Drifter there, maybe more.

Do mean Goose Gear Drifter pics? Or do you mean a Drifter with the Goose Gear Habitat setup inside?

Yeah, more to come! IG didn’t let us save the live so we’ll be back with some more.

It’s actaully called the Goose Gear Vagabond interior. The Habitat has its own as well.

We’re really stoked about it. So much room for activities.

Last one is just an iPhone pic, but it shows something unique to the Goosegear Vagabond system. Transforming lower sleeping platform utilizing existing panels.

    Looks great.
What's the ballpark price for something like that with the GG inside?
How bout weight as built ready for camping?
Reason I ask is only to compare with what I know from previously owning a FWC Finch. It was very heavy and around 13k when I bought many years ago, now even more pricey.

    Thanks!

The introductory price is approximately $5k for the interior. Plus freight, but we’ll mitigate some of the costs by having a bulk order shipped to our shop.

We’ll get the weights this week.

There’s a pretty big difference between our camper, with a Goosegear interior, vs. a Fourwheel Camper. Benefits and downsides to each system. You and I have both moved away from FWC’s based on what we do, where we want to go, and how they affect drive ability. They really are in a different market than us.

I definitely have more useable space with this setup. The Goosegear system makes the interior versatile and creates a livable space. It’s easy to move around when everything has its place.

Good stuff guys! That platform transformation is best practice as proven by many previous van builds. It’s been in my plans since inception as well. Triple purpose for everything if possible.
REALLY glad you guys are so progressive getting these options into builds for our campers!

So I actually just moved from a 5ft Vagabond to an 8ft FWC Grandby. Even at $8kish for a Vagabond with some options + $5k for a Goose Gear interior build it’s still cheaper than a FWC “shell” model and has more features and is MUCH better built and probably still lighter.

I had a great set up with my Finch shell. The weight was killer though. Loaded for a trip my rig weighed 6400ish when put on the scales. As noted, there are pros/cons to every set up.

You're absolutely correct. Even "Tacodoc" who built out a really nice flatbed FWC on a Dodge chassis ended up selling. I don't know the particulars but weight and ability to get almost anywhere were part of it from what I know. Think he has a Jeep now. Maybe going to a Habitat.

When I was building my platform in my truck I thought about using aluminum extrusion but time and money were in short supply. I'm back in school and will be using my current set up for a few more years. Anxious to see how all these new wedge styles are utilized and how people decide to build them out.

Looks awesome! Have a set up that is mudular enough to support different sleeping and storage configurations is key!
