    Hey, are ya'll clearing 7' garages with a Drifter & 33"s?

I'm trying to plan out a build around a Drifter with the lowest profile solar panels I can find, and then a tire/suspension set-up that will work well with snow chains.

Any info would be great, would love to know how if others are fitting into their 7' garages with a Drifter.

I can just squeeze into my 7’5” parking garage . Sitting on BFG ko2’s 34x10.5 r27, kings shocks (about 2” lift) fan on top of drifter. Might have and inch to spare and I mean might.. it was so close I traded with a guy in a Subaru wrx unit l I move in a few weeks.

Dang that's good to know. Maybe 32's without a fan would fit...

Still would love more data points if anyone else has them!

Believe the height is 33” over the bed side rail to top point of drifter. It’s buried in these threads as we went through it with a few others.

32's, no lift, fan on top. I fit in my garage with a little room to spare, but it's about as close as I'd be comfortable getting without having to be really conscious of it every time I pull in or out.

stock springs? if so you must be bottoming out on every bump. Watched them put onion a stock truck and it dropped a good two inches.

    Stock springs, but with Sumos.
It works fine, but Deavers are definitely in my future.

Works fine? Must not be doing much for off-roading, I had ome HD with two extra aal’s And they were not able to support the weight of the drifter, granted they failed miserably and I was bottoming out shocks and hitting the bump stops constantly. Hope the stick springs are working well!

Well with the SumoSprings, the stock leaves are almost just back there to locate the axle. Not doing much, at least in my case...
I'm not a hard core rock-crawler or desert racer. Sure I enjoy it, but for me it's more about getting to remote places to camp, hike, etc.
It's definitely no Cadillac, but it's doing the job for the moment.

Good to hear, I was thinking sumo were bumpstops.

Really anyone deser racing or rock crawling with a drifter is asking for a lot of problems

They pretty much are just a big bumpstop that has a little flex and give to it.

Snow wheeling on El Compadre trail in northern Baja on Friday. We were the only ones that made it through. A couple climbs took both lockers and a lot of skinny pedal to make it up.

More photos from 8 nights sleeping in the Drifter with my partner and my 7 1/2 year old son to come. This was the first trip we all took together and the Drifter was perfect or the 3 of us. She and I slept up top while my son slept below on a platform on top of action packers. She and I both slept below one night and found it to be totally comfortable for us (yay trail limo). We went Tecate -> El Compadre -> San Felipe (Kikis) -> LA Bay (Daggets) -> San Rafael -> San Francisquito (2 nights) -> Laguna San Ignacio (got to touch a grey whale and saw ~20-30 other individuals including a couple babies with mothers) -> San Felipe (Kikis) -> Laguna del Diablo -> El Compadre -> Tecate.

One of the magical things about Baja is you can watch the sunrise on the Sea of Cortez and watch it set on the Pacific. We thought that we would catch the sunset in San Diego after blazing across Laguna del Diablo and back over El Compadre but the unexpected snow made us miss it on the Pacific side.

Nice photo! I spent 3 seasons in Baja on a sailboat and it never got close to cold enough for snow.
