We’ve waited 9-months since ordering the Vagabond Drifter with delay after delay. Scheduled install date, driving out to make the date, and just received a message at 11:38 pm 1-1/2 days prior to install another delay!
    Anyone else have this problem?
Those who’ve actually received the product and install satisfied with it?
A lot money, and a seriously long lead time . . . Tell me its worth it?!

I don’t personally own one...yet, but comparing to GFC lead times, 8 months is short. Well made product and great guys. I can understand your frustration, but it’s a custom made camper out of a small shop that takes pride in quality control. The wait will be worth it since I think it’s the best wedge style camper available.

Its actually 9-months, and that is not bad I’d agree if 1) Vagabond was not boasting they have a shorter lead time than the competition [because they do not]; 2) Vagabond has terrible Customer Service and/or communication with this particular set of customers; 3) Side note GFC will come to you for the install BTW.

Example: you do not, not notify a customer that their June ready date is not happening until customer asks status during Overland Expo nor do you not tell people to cancel their 12-hour journey for an install appointment only to receive a TEXT message at midnight 24-hours beforehand that the camper is not ready.

We’ve had a 4-Wheel Camper (which is now desperately missed) that we waited about the same amount of time and never ever experienced the absolute lack of communication we are experiencing now.

Did you join with the sole intent of complaining about vendors, or actually want to be able to contribute to the forum; like actually participate?

BTW: Its hard to believe a moderator would write such a response.

    Updated.

We’ve had our install and our first night’s experience — comfy, warm and perfect ‘den’ for a good nights rest for us. A lot of work and detail goes into these campers. VB has definitely put some real thought into the design and it shows.

If you’re interested in one and do not have an immediate deadline, have patience but be persistent with this newbie company, in our opinion we’ve made the right choice for our Tacoma. VB has shown us that their customer’s satisfaction is priority—would highly recommend this camper company.

What was your order number? Just trying to gauge how much longer I have to wait. I Ordered mine the beginning of January. It's hard to wait but I do believe they are building a quality product and from what I understand, they've had some setbacks with suppliers this year. Not a whole lot they can do about it.

Looking to placing my order in the near future. If it’s a 9 month wait still I might be able to have it for summer. Still can’t decide on the options I wouldn’t be able to live without.

I think the current wait time is 10+ months. I've heard the fan is a "must have" and most people like to have at least one side access door. There's a better thread titled "Vagabond Drifter Specs" where you can spend literally hours getting all of your questions answered!
