I just mounted my Beltronics GX65 on the GoPro mount. I got an arm and clip and some other parts and had to figure out how to get the clip mount for the detector to attach to the arm. I bent up the suction cup mount that came with the detector (no need to worry if it didn't work, I had a blendmount) I sprayed it black, and it looks like crap, though once installed you can't see it anyway, half goes into the detector, the other half into the arm for the GoPro mount. I used a different bolt to go through the detector bracket and arm so I could squeeze the plastic arm down around the thin metal bracket. With everything tightened down it is pretty solid up there
I reused the mute button and smart cord I custom fitted into a switch blank on my old 4Runner, the only blank I had was also the only spot on the truck this button would fit. I wired it to the backside of the cigarette lighter outlet that is in the console. I am not in love with the location for the button, I may remove either the parking sonar switch or Qi charging switch and make a new button in a blank that will fit there. I don't see myself ever using parking sonar with a backup camera, and my iPhone 6S does not support Qi.

Although an older post, this is still relevant. An awesome job and worthy of continued kudos. My problem from the beginning is that my detector is the Escort 9500ix "Passport" series, which has a mount that isn't solid like the one shown. So locating/drilling the holes for the GoPro mount attachment isn't possible. I will need to find another mount that fits the detector. BUT - ANYTHING to avoid those damn suction cups!

A side note here concerning detectors. It is true they are not anywhere near useful where Laser (LIDAR) is the tool of choice. But if RADAR alone is employed, it won't be nearly as much of a threat, if you use appropriate tactics when driving. It would then be rare to be caught, unless you are just drving off guard.

Laser/LIDAR however, is a TOTALLY different animal, for two reasons. It is "personal" - meaning - he is aiming the mean at YOU alone. And lastly - You have no time to respond - you are caught if he gets a return reflected from your vehicle. Your headlights, tag, windshield, all reflect the light back to his receiver.
The ONLY defense to this is a Laser Jammer. Which is about 99% sure protection. Otherwise - your detector's alert is telling you to pull over, unless the cop ignores you to catch a bigger fish!

Until about 5 years ago - jammers were about 100% effective. "Blinder" and other companies made systems rather easily installed that "jam-to-gun" (or jam for a programmable amount of time) to keep his return from "returning" to him. I have demonstrated that it works flawlessly MANY times. However, now enters a new Laser/LIDAR transmitter called "DragonEye". Its pulse train is re-programmable on the fly such that jammer devices cannot simply use a comparison (look-up table) to ID the pulse train and respond with the correct jam signal. So in states or jurisdictions where those have been implemented, you are again naked out there when it comes to disarming the enemy.

The counter-counter intelligence is still "in the works" with a few companies to "learn" on the fly (and clobber) the new LIDAR arrays, but relief is not quite "there" yet - and prices are now heading up to $1k for the setup. So the fun is less than it use to be. But.....stay tuned. Maybe there's hope yet. (or surrender and slow down).

I used to have an Escort Passport back in the day, that thing was fantastic. Today, I've had my share of fast cars and found its cheaper and easier to just go the speed limit. Going 10 mph over or more isn't going to get you anywhere any faster, most of the time those folks end up behind me or me behind them at a red light or stop sign. Glad yall are making headway though for easier mounts.

Check mine out one post before your. My Beltronics mount should be the same as your Escort. It took some mangling of the stock auction cup mount, but I made it work in the GoPro mount.
I did decide I didn't like it there though, and moved it back under my mirror with the blendmount I already had from my 4Runner.
