Would be very appreciative of a ballpark answer. I have an 2001 Extra-Cab, V6, Manual, 4w/d, never been in an accident, 325k, w/good tires and battery that I have done regular maintenance on since becoming its 2nd owner in 2003, the interior is not trashed but it’s not like new; due to circumstances I now need to sell my Tacoma (even though I had hoped to never sell it) and really need a ballpark answer as to the Minimal amount I should take, especially now with the uncertainty of future prices due to Tariffs.

Also, are the Stop Start Clutch button, and the Rear Differential Lock button standard w/4 wheel drive, or extras?

    Thank you

It's a very volatile time to tell. It might be worth more in a month than today. All you really have for today is comps in your area.

Yes, I am aware we could be facing significant economic change directly and wish I could wait or not have to sell at all. However I do need to liquidate my truck and am attempting to take all factors into consideration.

Excellent starting point is to view what others are listing theirs for on Craigslist, Facebook market, OfferUp etc in your general area.

prices will vary based on location and overall condition. Can’t compare CA Tacoma to one from NY.

Where do you live? They’re worth a lot more in California than they are here in the Midwest. Additionally, does it have any rust? These frames are known to rust out where they use road salts so. Post some pictures and we can get a better idea.

Live in California, no rust issues.

Not clear about the opened or locked 4 w/d statement.

I’d say you shouldn’t take less than $6k. Would be really surprised if you couldn’t move it quick for that price. Manual and 4WD are a big plus but 325,000 miles is quite high.

If you’re in CA, depending on overall condition (exterior and interior), if there’s oil seep/leak, and maintenance history; I would say the ballpark of 6-8k will be comfortable. Yes, you can list it higher but will probably wait months before you get a kicker or lowball offer. If it’s price right, it will sell quick.

I have researched locally as much as possible and sort of saw a wide range of prices for 1st gen. I appreciate the input here, and now feel pretty good about asking and getting a fair price for my Tacoma. My Tacoma that I truly will miss.

Learned how to drive a manual on a 1959 Porsche, and my first vehicle was a 1958 MGA. Only vehicle I ever bought brand new was a 1995 Camry which was a manual as well. I’ve been driving a 2020 Subaru Forester, the first automatic in a long time for me and am now certain I prefer manual.

well, I just bought a manual 4x4, but a 98, with 325k miles, v6, out of colorado. No terminal rust. nice interior, one small ding, and still looking good, nearly all stock, in working condition. I saved about 2000 or more based on the 4x4 manual prices of '98-2003 in my area. 10k was the going ask around here, north of SF Bay, for almost any mileage, but most around 200-250. late Jan '25.

    4 run, 2 don't
There are several near me between $4,500 to $6,900, 4x4 single and extended cab models.

Near me as in Central California.

Condition and *preventative maintenance done* will be your key selling points here.

Once you hit 300k miles the value drops a lot as a ton of people shy away even with service records it’s a huge gamble and near the end of the life of the engine but it is a Tacoma so you got that going. Depending on frame on how clean anywhere from 1500 to 9k on the high end (super clean perfect rust free frame)

In general, ask a little more than everyone else and write a little better ad is what I usually do. Helps weed out the tire kickers.

Not saying you should but people in the New England region would pay higher for a nice rust free 1G, so many here were lost to the buybacks.
