I would look for hail damage first, it’s possible to get her cheaper ;-)

If it checks out mechanically, driveabiility, along with a hell of a deal, I have no issues buying a salvage titled vehicle. Been there, done that and had no problems selling it multiple times in the past.

What's that age-old, sage advise? Passed down to us from our forefathers and their fathers before them. "If it flies, floats, or f---s, rent it."

Not that I know, but he keeps hanging out in the local thread here in Reno...We've probably even scowled at each other from across a grocery store aisle.

I bought my 2011 DCSB TX TRD 4.0 v6 with 72k miles and a salvaged title in 2018 for $11,500. Like everyone else said though, every one of these salvage title vehicles will be different. In my case, I knew all about the vehicle before purchasing. Got it from a small town shop that specializes in rebuilding totaled vehicles and reselling. I know the owner and he assured me it was all cosmetic damage. I inspected to be sure there was no frame damage and the truck ran perfect on the test drives. Now at 125k and haven’t had any issue other than replacing one coil pack. I’d also be interested to see my resale value, but I expect the worst because there’s no way for me to prove what the truck was totaled for to a potential buyer. They’d just have to take my word. Shouldn’t be an issue as I don’t plan to sell it anyway. I mean, it is a Tacoma after all..

I was not. Last time I was at the Depot, I picked up some pellets for the traeger grill and bought a little fire extinguisher.

Certainly got me curious about this thread. But now there's a couple dudes as the thread thumbnail. Boo.
No value to a salvage for me
