I just want to start off by saying I’m new to this, my friend and I noticed oil leaks coming from the valve cover. He suggested it was a bad valve cover gasket and after a few hours of taking stuff apart to get to it, he was right! So we fixed and then started putting stuff together. That’s where the problems started. I want to make it known I should’ve taken A LOT more pictures then I actually did. The process was more of a “trying to figure out” where each hose and proper screws went with the limited amount of pictures. We got everything back together and we had a long screw left over. One white plug with no where to go(found out in a separate forum that it’s a temperature gauge) and a brownish orange plug behind the intake that won’t fully click in.
we called it a day so I can do more research before I take it apart again so I thought I would ask around! Safe to say there’s no more oil leak though!

Have pictures for reference if anyone need to see what I’m talking about.

Sorry again for being fairly new but what do you mean by MIL and pull the codes how so. I also do want to mention that the engine seemed like it was struggling a bit

The check engine warning light on the instrument cluster. If it's on, you can head over to the local parts store and they should be willing to check it for free with their code reader. A code reader will produce an error code and you then can search google using that error code or post here. It will get you started on the path of resolving any outstanding issue the computer has detected.

You can go as simple as this:
    https://www.amazon.com/VDIAGTOOL-Scanner-Diagnostic-Readiness-Protocol/dp/B0BY1TS725/

or a version which connects to your phone via Bluetooth and utilizes an app
    https://www.amazon.com/Scanner-Vehicle-Adapter-Wireless-Diagnostic/dp/B076FRK5BT/

    Android App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torquefree&pcampaignid=web_share
There is a similar version for Apple, I don't have the link handy. Search it.
