Looks like I need to replace the valve cover gaskets as oil is leaking on both sides

Is there any way this affects the air intake? Or is that a separate problem?

Airflow doesn't sound smooth at the filter, and engine's running pretty rough
K&N intake on this one, considering replacing with OEM since I have to take it apart for the valve cover gaskets anyway

Thanks in advance for any advice/input

Do a compression test before you go too far. If it's running rough and you have had questionable filtration then you may have more serious problems.

(I strongly dislike K&N filters, just look into the clean side of the airbox if you run one, it's going to be dirty)

Otherwise the intake will need to come off, you will need two intake plenum gaskets (the round hole ones). Dont forget the new rear cam plugs and get the valve cover kit.
