Hey everyone this is my first post on here and some help would be appreciated my water pump went out and caused me to overheat. I did a combustion leak test and thankfully my head gaskets are fine but I'm worried it that my timing chain might have gotten to hot as well I'm on the way to check it but have gotten stuck on the wiring harness connector I've never come across this style of clip and cant seem to work it out

Those are just pressed on the studs. You should be able to pull them straight off the stud. A flat head screw driver under it works, but I find that using just regular pliers on the top and pull straight off.

I pry those from underneath with a clip remover or flathead screwdriver. You could also press the little tabs in with picks and lift it out. I just carefully pry them, though. What makes you think you damaged the timing chain? How bad and for how long did the engine overheat?

Thanks with the old plastic I wanted to be sure before I start prying on it. My engine overheated off and on I was pulling over and turning the truck off, this is the first thing that's gone wrong with it in about 185,000 miles and I have the timing cover oil leak so I figured I can kill two birds one stone by resealing and checking timing.
