the problem is that you have to remove the entire intake, the plenum, and some of the timing cover just to get to the driver side valve cover, and reassembly is where a lot of problems will be. if you don't do it right, you will have intake leaks up the ass and then some.

if you really are going to take this on by yourself, make sure you get all the gaskets and do it right.

plenum should be 10 bucks for both.

    throttle body gasket, a dollar?

valve cover gasket set. another 45 bucks or so. make sure you get a complete kit with spark plug tube seals and new grommets! like this

also, this is assuming you only have a valve cover gasket problem.

i think something caused your engine to lose it's oil through the valve cover as described in your original post. you should be ready for some surprises.

Electrodes fell off my spark plug and I just melted the boot and it was all coming out by the coil pack I bought 6 new plugs and a new coil and put it in. I'm leaving for collage In the fall and plan on doing some work because I have broken leaf spring. But I'm Gonna go through the truck a make sure I have solid truck before I leave for collage. Plan on using the forum to do some mods as well. I've really been exploring this forum lately and fell in love with it. It's just one big Tacoma family with all the possible mods and instruction info you could ever need. I want a little more clearance for the trails because I do like to go do some off-roading acasionally I just don't like to go mudding. But I like crawling around and I like hill climbs.
