Are all valve covers for first gen cross compatible? They look identical for the most part, but will they line up? Found a 2002 cover for a 2003.

I'm almost certain they are because a buddy of mine and I ordered the same parts list to both do our valve cover gaskets (and all the other "while you're in there" stuff) last summer and I have an '03 and he has a '98. These were the 5vz V6's though, so I cant be certain same would apply for 4-bangers.

I think 2001 and later have a screw-in pcv valve fitting.

The older ones like my 98 use a push in grommet....

    2rz/3rz

also that same year and after they go to a 4 port intake on the head....that may change the bolt pattern...

97 to 2000 is my muse......

2001 and later steady subtle changes..

4 port intake, electronic steering solenoid, abs, plug over coils, and last two years electronic carb in 03/04.......

so the carb and its vacuum ports also change over that time to meet the newer configurations.....

and when I say carb.....I mean throttle body.....
