Ok guys.. I need some help here.

Some guy just tried to tow my truck.. I was parked in front of my girlfriends house for less that 4-5 minutes. Seriously. Less than 5 minutes. The entire housing development is red-curb. No parking. I know he's somewhat doing his job (while also being an asshole)

I caught him, because we seriously were headed to dinner. Walked in, walked out 5 minutes later and there he was. Ohhh I was fuming mad. Had to walk away before losing my cool.

Wanted $300 to "unhook" it and leave. I calmly (with f words) told him to get lost and I was calling my cop brother in-law. Not sure that would help, but that's bullshit.

He said lowest his company allows for a release and unhook is $230.

In the end I argued it. He wouldn't budge and almost drove off. My GF gave him $230 and he gave me a receipt and left.

Soooo mad right now. Having a jack n coke.

It's an asshole thing to do on his part since it was only for a few minutes, but he was just doing his job. Some HOA's take that stuff VERY seriously. I had a friend over in Centennial Hills park his jeep on the curb facing traffic instead of with traffic. He parked it there so I could back my truck up, drop off a piece of furniture and that was it. It took maybe 3 minutes tops and as he was getting in his Jeep to pull back in the driveway, a parking enforcement agency gave him a ticket for $40.

I don't think there was really anything you could do except, live and learn.

I heard on Car Talk to jump inside really quickly, lock the doors and wait them out by threatening to take a nap. They aren't allowed to tow a car with someone inside. Not sure if it will work or not but maybe worth a try... that has got to be one of the scummiest jobs.

I "almost" understand the he's just doing his job argument. But $300 for 4 minutes of work.. Not even strippers make that kinda cash in Vegas.

If this was a tow for any other reason (broken down, etc) its usually $50/65 hook up fee. Then per mile. How can these asshats charge $300 just to unhook. Sounds like an inflated scam.

My trailer got tagged by the constable one time, that asshat showed up 2 hrs before the 72 hours expired, sat in front of my trailer, wouldn't let me move it, and then the tow company charged me 250$ to tow it to my shop 6 miles away. All those guys are a little too douchey

Certainly a bunch of scumbags, that's for sure. See you got charged $250 to actually tow it somewhere. I paid $230 for a simple "drop fee" to unhook it less than 10 minutes later.. without going anywhere. That, in my opinion, is a scam and a joke, and these people should be in courtrooms or out of business.

That's just plain wrong. He was trolling the neighborhood too, had to. I looked at my text messages. I was inside my girlfriends house for 6 minutes. And in that small 6 minute window he came and hooked it up to tow. Total BS.
    Raaaaage!!!!

My fog lights either both burned out. Or something is wrong. Any suggestions for replacements or to check?

    Thanks

Try replacing the bulbs first, if nothing then it's a wiring issue. Check the harness wiring where the bulbs plug into and look for weathering on wires that may be exposed or any type of corrosion since electrical components corrode fairly fast out here.

I'd start by checking the fuse box

Going at the same time my first thought was a fuse... But today they're working again. Something somewhere must be loose, or shorting out. Hopefully it's something simple. Going to take a look around tomorrow.

When I got my Tacoma, it came with 20" chrome wheels and I had them up for sale for close to year at $1000 then dropped to $800 and kept lowering til I hit $500 and then finally after no takers someone offered $400 for the tires so I just gave him the wheels too. I didn't pay anything for them since they came with the truck but I figured they would have sold fast at around $800-1000 since the wheels were $300 each and the tires were $250 each. Again, I didn't pay anything for them since they came on the truck but, hey, it was money to get a lift. GLWS.

I've got 4 16" bare aluminum wheels in my garage with lugs, you would just need to put some tires on them
