OK, I give. Here it is. BTW you guys are no fun :

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

Just wondering from everyone's experience, what is the best way to make my truck more capable off road.I got my wheels and A/T tires.I have a leveling kit that I haven't installled yet.m on a budget.I don't want to jump my truck like tacoshredding but I don't wanna roll up on apex.either.I figure Mitch made it home from burro wash so I feel like those trails are where I draw the line.jean dry lake bed will most likely be my usual spot.im 4x2 p rerunner .I want to have fun without destroying my truck..what should I get reinforced and what should I leave alone.I might be able to get a deal on uca's from readylift but other than that I don't know maybe bilstein reservoir shocks from a Baja tacoma.maybe ANAL. thats Aal's stupid auto correct)

 Haha why not!? Tacoshredding is fun!!! :p

If you're on a budget but want a decent/better offroad setup, look into Toytec lift components. Affordable and plenty good for what you want to do. I'd say some Light Racing UCAs, Toytec adjustable coil overs, an All Pro leaf pack for lift in the rear and extended rear Bilsteins to compensate.

I know these options might cost more than just a leveling spacer and AAL, but you'll be thankful for the ground clearance later. Plus the ride quality will be better. Take it one step at a time.

so where should I begin.i have $200 on the way from momma dukesfor nerf bars.i might buy MOT's but I think sliders might be better.
I guess leveling kit first since I already have it.also I would prefer to stick with bilsteins.maybe ones from the Baja edition with reseviors.do I need to upgrade springs with those?

Yeah throw on that leveling kit but I say save up that 200 to put towards suspension. Nerfs aren't going to do anything for you unless you want them for looks. Sliders are going to be way more expensive and if you're not going to do any heavy rock climbing you won't need them amongst other things. And I believe the resi bilsteins can be used with stock springs or an AAL so you're fine there.

Hahahaha. I didn't know my truck looked beat up lol.

Toyota tail lights are a joke. The little prongs that hold them in just crack right off. Thus mine have came off on a trail multiple times. I have a set sitting in my closet, but I haven't put them on until I find a clever way to mount them.

My bedsides are halfway white due to the front sand blasting the bulge on the bedside. Haven't painted them due to it's just gonna happen again, til, I find a clever way to stop that from happening. Any suggestions?

Not sure about the tail lights but doesn't plasti-dip make a clear paint now or some type of clear coat? Maybe that would protect your bedsides. Might have to re-apply often but would be cheaper then keep them repainted.

This does not work on the late 2011 models. Only early 2011 and before. That's what I said in my post.

And guys, I wear my seatbelt everywhere I go. But I don't want 2 minutes of beeping at me while I'm leaving my gated complex, or headed to get the mail.. I'm safe, I don't need Toyota telling me to do so. Not to mention the dog engages the front passenger seat and it beeps whenever he comes along.. weak

I know people on here who will pull the gauge cluster and put some silicone over the part that beeps. Not sure how well it works though.

On my truck I think Matt @ MCM just pulled some wire. Mine don't go off, I don't even have Seatbelts anymore.

A harness doesn't count. My one car rule, any vehicle I am driving, is it doesn't go into gear until all passengers are seatbelted up. Front, rear, left, right, don't care. Buckle your fucking seatbelt. Avoid getting a ticket for some dumb shit. Get in the truck, throw it on, drive two miles, take it off. How hard is that? 1.5 seconds out of your day. As for the dog, I have seen things that clip into the buckle simulating a seatbelt. But if I ever catch any of you with that on your drivers seatbelt buckle I'm taking it off and throwing it as far as I can. Just a warning. Wear your fucking seat belt. Don't be that guy.
